  1. Tommy, he's away foreign, probably rooting away in a spaniards attic. Back Sunday i believe.
  2. Theres a traverser in the tara mines depot? Thought it was just a loop, any chance of a few photos? R.
  3. timmy, i reckon most lads have a few MIR 42' flats, rare as hens teeth now. I have it on good authority that the wondershop in ennis is producing the finest most accurate version of the 42' flat, if you can hold off SSM will sort u out. Failing that, Bachmann do a twin spine wagon which, although wrong length looks good when irishized with red bauxite and dirt. There is also the BR dapol pocket wagon, but its short, and holds only the 40' container rather than the 45' container that IE have. Roko and a few eu manufacturers do some passable wagons, but they are expensive foe being wrong. Richie.
  4. Two widescreen Dells. Seriously jealous. Any progress on the ballasting?

It was mostly green Rich, not much silver at all. I'll be passing friday, so will have camera prepped, unless someone else gets there first. R.

    MK3 Scrapping

That's just toying with us. Would have thought its cheaper and easier to do some graphic design and photoshop than crack out the sheets of masking roll and paintbrushes. Me smells a big mouse here.

    MK3 Scrapping

Wha? Irish mk3's are back in action, and possibly with a "green" livery, enough to give JHB indigestion? more info ...
  10. Tidy bit of work Eamonn, the siding pose is particularly evocative!
  11. Paul, the dapol site sells only 9, 10, and 11' chassis on their own. The prestwin chassis has a 12' wheelbase, which is spot on for anything irish. Are they the same-ish price?
  12. One level yes, southside only? It would be a warm day in hell i could subscribe to a "southside" only focussued project. No North Wall or Quayside action, no glorious Mills' butter brick buildings, nor GNR accopmanieamnet? Whatsmore, i wouldnt get to use up my stock of 1:76 tracksuited people, young wans pushing scratchbuillt prams, and workshy clowns throwing scratchbuilt tinnies into the scratchbuilt canal! What's da warld comin ta rich?
  13. Moogle here is the man for all things N gauge, his workbench is particularly inspiring. And welcome to the forum. http://www.irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/2226-Moogle-s-Workbench Richie
  14. http://dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=silo&product_id=576 That's the chappy there Sean. Richie. edit - oops, cheaper variety here. http://www.ehattons.com/34858/Dapol_C043_Prestwin_Twin_Silo_Cement_Wagon_plastic_kit/StockDetail.aspx
  15. Ciaran Cooney (Eiretrains) has some nice photos of them in his Tivoli Folder http://eiretrains.com/Photo_Gallery/Railway%20Stations%20T/Tivoli/IrishRailwayStations.html Some others I have... R
  16. Lads, there was a post a good few months ago which showed a grainy shot of (i think) three ex- GSR / MGWR coaches is Amiens street in black n tan. I believe JHB and Minister and a few others replied. I think JHB said that two lonely ancient carraiges survived into black and tan era and photos and links arrived. Would any of you have it bookmarked, or have the photos. I've searched here for hours, and i even replied to the thread! Any help would be appreciated. Richie.
  17. Putting the tracks dead centre doesnt allow for sweeping long curves. My thinking on something like this was the section of track from dorset street bridge with canal, facing the victorian terrace, running to where croke park starts. (Can run any era that way) To be realistic it would have to have curvature of some sort. It would be possible to set track exit points at three, or two zones on the boards also, prrovided thd track exited perpendicular to the baseboard edge if ya follow? It would allow for layouts like malahide, which is activity heavy on one side only, but you'd have to be good at dominoes to get it all arranged at a show? Thoughts? Richie.
  18. http://www.freewebs.com/crail=intermodal/4mmrtr.html do modern image containers in multiple sizes, decorated, kitform etc., but I reckon it's the 8'6" and upward variety only. ISO standards for containerisation were published between 1968 and 1972 which would have banished the 8'0". Would 2mm be a deal breaker? Would H0 containers be of any help, especially in the US? R.
  19. Explain.
