  1. That it would. Spent the last 20 mins trying and photoshop is not playing ball. Will try again tomorrow with some different software. R
  2. Who's doing the kit Bosko, the Italian guys?
  3. You Sir, are a friggin Diamond! Love how you've taken the photos with an eye to make up drawings or a model Been looking for something similar! Clarity of the photos is superb, what are you using? Care to share what you're thinking of doing....? Richie
  4. Oh yes! Well spotted Shem. Would love to see photos too Hardship!
  5. Sorry shem, fixed - big oops.
  6. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Didn't think we had any 0-4-0's, cos I've two of them smokie Joe models from eons ago that I wanted to convert and couldn't find a prototype, until I got two RPSI volumes from 1965 that detailed the Guinness Brewery in minute detail. The only other small fella I was thinking of was Sambo
  7. uhm...ah..well...ah.. that's a good question seamus. If I tell you, I'd have to...probably build you one . Just finished the drawings for her sister 774 with the smaller PTH350 cranes rather than the PTH500 ones on 776. Probably won't get it started for a few months yet. R
  8. Anything to do with Uncle Arthur's Medicinal Tonic Jhb ???
  9. Sorry lads for resurrecting this thread, but do you any of ye have any photos of the jib that carries the track panels between the two wheeled gantry crane portals? It sits on the spine wagon? Thanks in advance. No matter, I think I answered my own question [video=youtube_share;TsSKYyIoCQQ]
  10. Ernie, A few here that may be of some help. Have you a copy of "Smoke amidst the Drumlins?" Richie.
  11. Bosko, can you put out a global mayday on this? Ernie Brack has provided us with some fabulous photos, can we dig out photos from Cultra? Ernie, that link only brings us to the login page for the forum rather than an image. Can you sort this out? Swissirishernie fan no 1.
  12. Really looking forward to seeing this in the flesh. keep on trucking ECM. R
  13. Absolutely top drawer stuff. the underframe detail alone is fabulous. R
  14. Google images for "port panorama" and flick through. A few might have to be "altered" to get that Lagan look - might want to photoshop Samson & Goliath in!"
  15. Like this? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ee/Jurong_Industrial_Estate_and_Jurong_Island%2C_panorama%2C_Nov_06.jpg
  16. Sure is Tom, this is it blown up and reversed And here's what happens when an obsession goes a bit too far... Richie.
  17. It's a cooling fan. The beam of light was created by electrical arcing through two chemical rods, so the heat would have been intense. Operators had a leash so they could stand a fair bit back from it and still operate it. I have an odd theory on time of the photo - 1966 for the anniversary of the rising. CIE were busy renaming stations and being bullish, so they may have been used for some promo doo-daaa.? Who knows! R.
  18. The drawings , i think, are not the as built set, so try to compare against photos. The cab height, curve, and number of windows facing forward are different to the drawings. I had a crack at a 121 a few weeks ago. It didnt work out as planned. I'll get you a snap tomorrow showing how not to do it! Best of luck with the move. R.

Fair play to the Deise, cracking game against the cats in the minor. The Dubs have nothing to be shameful about. They played a higher standard of hurling this year than either Tipp, Galway, or Kilkenny, and I can see them being genuine contenders from now on. Roll on next weekend!
  20. Nice work 33Lima on the Brown Van. Des Coackhams "Irish Broad Gauge Carriages" has a full frontal of one with steel underframe and "modern" (inside) axelguards. On the opposite page is a brown van converted to a breakdown van with the axelguards on the outside. Seems you're safe enough! Richie.
  21. Kieran, the loading bays would also have been elevated like cahir, to make life easier regarding loading & unloading for lorries etc. I checked the drawings for your goods gable and it's spot on. The loading bay openings would have been 8 ft (32mm) wide and split in such away to avoid the trusses on the roof, so roof load wasnt displaced over the arch. Looks bang on to me. You'll need to put some type of balsa wood roof truss (2) and ridge inside to support the foamboard or it will sag over time, but so far it's looking great. Richie.
  22. jesus...the mind boggles at this! if the wagon had a flying snail logo i'd say it could be a military train during the emergency! - fantastic pic dave=D Had a root through some military books here, and the searchlights are what were called 90cm Projector Anti - Aircraft, and the supporting generators on the lowmac flat wagons were two wheeled Lister JP4 9 Kw Generators. There is a supplementary lorry based generator also required by Thornycraft or Tillings Stevens. The generator can be bought from here http://www.milicast.com/shop/product.php?productid=307&cat=18&page=1 More info. http://www.anti-aircraft.co.uk/ListerJP4generator.html but I've had no luck with the searchlight. This is what it looked like, if the scratchers wanna have a go http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3dsmax-british-90cm-searchlight/666218 Richie.
  23. Nice one, love the aul hoovers I do, though not mad about the livery. What's the story with the owners "If lost, please return to Mr. Cunningham" sign in the cab? It's a bit nuts! The shot at Dawlish Warren with the Plashtic DMU beneath the ornate bridge makes me uncomfortable, like the thought of Heirflick dressed as Helga. Richie.
