  1. That's a fantastic build and finish. It's also a great tutorial. The correct Commonwealth bogies really sets the bar. Rich,
  2. Also got mine the other day thanks lads and many happy returns. Rich,
  3. Great work Jason, not to much, not to little just right. That's weathering what you see not what you think it should look like. I have some 20ft sets packed away somewhere I'll have a look over the festivities. Rich,
  4. 42 always carried five cages and 47 carried six. It was also common to see two or three cages on a 42 or 47 amongst fully loaded wagons. Rich,
  5. I had a good look at mine last night and my only complaint is that I didn't order more, but as Fran has said above there will be another run in the future. It must have been fun at times during the design stages especially with the mechanics around the swing of the bogies. The representation of the brake gear is a nice touch and looks great when they are not loaded. The diecast chassis is really crisp and exceeds the levels I imagined. There is also a nice weight to the CIE containers. What is amazing though is if you look at the CIE pack you are actually getting six items in the pack. The containers would retail at about €8 per wagon if sold separately so four would be €32. That means €34 per wagon and that represents great value for such a damn fine wagon. All in all another great release and roll on the rest of project 42. Not wishing to start a wish list but a 22ft flat with 14ft wheelbase would be smashing especially to go with the Keg liners, three cages per wagon and could be used for timber trains and containers. Rich,
  6. Brilliant scenes and commentary as usual Noel I'll be keeping a lookout for it when it arrives in Waterford. Rich,
  7. I would always advise that an airbrush with a full catalogue of spare parts is a must. Prolonged use dictates that at sometime spare parts will be needed. Good luck with the airbrushing in the future. Rich,
  8. Spot on Stephen that's how it was with the Rawies. Great work getting the liners here before Christmas really appreciated. Rich,
  9. looking like a winner, PM has really delivered the goods again. I am really happy for him. I don't think we would be where we are now without his huge contribution. Also respect to those who have assisted the man along his journey. The IE livery depicted in the pics really suits the 121's especially if you were lucky enough to see 124 and 134 double heading when they had just been overhauled for the last time. A great sound and sight. I don't think I would weather them, just run them as if they are on their first days duty after overhaul and are pristine. A rake of weathered bubbles behind them would make the contrast between locos and wagons really stand out. Smashing model, Rich,
  10. Have to say that 50007 Sir Edward Elgar always looked fantastic in the GWR livery. Top stuff Noel. Rich,
  11. If there is a bee in their bonnet I'd strongly suggest taking off the bonnet and get one of these. I would also advise to take off the skirt if wearing it, as it is one thing having it blown up, but having bees flying up there. I would also advise a board game to ease stress, this one would do the job.
  12. Cap''n road prison 36, what we've got here is a failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it, well he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men. You gonna get used to wearin them chains for a while Luke. Don't you ever stop listenin to them clinking. Cause they gonna remind you of what I've been sayin, for your own good. Luke replies I wish you'd stop bein so good to me cap'n. These last few posts remind. me of my favourite scene from Cool hand Luke. Keep trying Dave, don't give up. Rich,
  13. I've been having a good look at mine and they are a smashing and cool looking model. The representation of the nut and bolt on the buffer plates is a nice touch. They look exactly like what they are portraying and you can't ask for more than that. Rich,
  14. TBH I have come to the conclusion that there are more minus than pluses about the Oxford MK111's. I've seen a coach and the only redeeming point it has is the gangway corridor connector. The MM Cravens are in a league of their own and still remain one of the finest coaches in 00 especially the first releases which had the correct dimension bogies. If the Cravens are Premier League than the Oxfords are League 2 or lower. It's a shame as they got the livery completely wrong on the IC and Scotrail coaches and wouldn't back down and admit it. They had a chance to correct the lower body side shade and didn't on the Scotrail release. Right now I wouldn't be confident if they were to do an Irish MK111 unless there were a lot of corrections especially the underframe. Rich,
  15. Excellent Noel that will add huge enjoyment to a running session. Rich,
  16. They look amazing men. From when the Ballast's were announced and IRM launched it is amazing that at the years end we will have five wagons released. That is a staggering achievement. Also some of the wagons are in several liveries. Also Rawie Buffers. Add to all that, the price and quality of the models is class leading. I can't wait for mine. Rich,
  17. There is previous for these kind of barbed or sarcastic comments, that's why there are reactions when they are made in these posts. If someone has a gripe or problem about availability then contact one of the lads on here by pm or make contact through the company website. The lads are always willing to talk to their customers and look after their customers. Having a moan to others about how you are not satisfied with delays or similar does get back to those people and that is why there are these kind of reactions. It's only a few months since Fran was singled out for a tongue lashing (unjustly) on here. The sheer hard work and hours put into two company's and running this group is a testament to how the guys want the best for everyone. What was said was a sly dig. Anyway back on topic to these babies I can't wait and as said above some wagon sets without loads would be most welcome. Rich,
  18. It's sarcasm Fran, mores the pity as that pic of the wagons has given the rest of us a huge buzz for when they arrive. Whats bizarre is that it actually got a like. Rich,
  19. The underframe detail in the second clip is truly museum level. It could be a trick of the light in the second clip but is the cooling fan spinning. One of the trains that I have fondest memories of growing up in the eighties and nineties before the GM's took over is an A Class pulling Beet wagons to and from Wellington Bridge, I hope you are taking note men a double height Beet wagon to accompany the A's and to the level of the already released wagons is a must. We need to get you scanned by Modelu in a seated position for the cab Fran with Richie and Pat scanned in measuring the real loco pose to be able to recreate the Downpatrick visit in model form when the measuring and research took place.with A39. Rich,
  20. It looks amazing it screams A Class it runs beautifully. It's such an important part of railway history in the modern era and was the one model that really needed to be produced maybe more so than the GM 201 Class. Can't wait to see a painted example and more of the cab interior. IRM have every reason to be excited as this will set a new standard. Rich,
