I have to say that the extras such as pipe work and screw couplings that Heljan provide with their models are cracking. Look's a smashing model Fran their Hymek is still one of the very best models around. Rich,

Maybe use some 2mm thin walled rod Kieran, put some masking tape around the spot to be drilled and it will stop the drill bit from slipping. The same would apply to using the supplied rod. It takes patience, but it is worth it as they are super little kit's. Rich,

I think I'd have to look the other way if I was approaching Heuston. The MK3's in Waterford still upset me, they were a seriously good coach. Hopefully some of the loco's may return to the rails. As has been said they are in a reasonably good state on the outside even if some are missing internal parts. Still sad though looking at them. The fact that the 071's are being overhauled speaks volume about their reliability. Rich,

I see George 's set painted in green on RMweb and they look nice, Definitely worth a few quid to use them as a scratch building or kit bashing aid. I do think they would benifit hugely from fitting proper trussing and Masokit's MK1 brake gear to the underframe. Rich,

I often wonder was there a plan to run a railway along the south side of the river from where the Tower Hotel is now, along the river passing Waterpark College, the Rugby club and the ferry for Waterford Castle. Would it have run to Passage and onto Dunmore. I must have a chat with the father in law as he is a local and knows every part of the area. Rich,

Jack O'Neill was a lovely man with an encyclopaedia of railway history all stored in his mind, which is in my opinion the best kind. He was able to tell me about relatives I didn't know I had, who had worked on the railway. I agree 100% David it is fantastic. Martyn demystifies the whole process in such a genial way. I love the piece where he occidentally discovers how to get that silvery hue when producing a weathered timber look. Liverbird if you are after a video the right track series of dvd's with Tim Shackleton are worth investing in. Both guys tend to mix their own colour's and don't use off the shelf weathering colour's which gives their work a more personal look. Rich,

Eamonn the hand painted models (121, EGV, and Des's kit) you have done look very good to me. If that technique could be mastered it can give flawless results. I saw some Rocar hand painted models years ago and they were amazing. Rich,

Having a lot of the buildings and railway related structures ready to be dropped into position is a great incentive to getting the permanent way down. I still love the cement loading facility. Great work so far, all plaudits are truly deserved. Rich,
