Hi Noel, Deltic update here: https://accurascale.co.uk/blogs/news/deltic-update-january-2020 Class 37 is un-impacted and on schedule (as are our other announced projects (and a great many unannounced ones!)) Many thanks!

It seems a while since our A Class sample was first shown at the South Dublin Model Railway Club show in October. The feedback on the locomotive has been sublime, and we are very happy with most of the tooling work and performance. However, we were also aware that there was room to improve the model, particularly around glazing and the circuit board needed work to include correct lighting functions and DCC functionality. This has proven to be a new learning curve for us, with our friends at ESU providing invaluable support. Their new circuit board design will feature next level features, such as a power pack and multiple lighting functions required for the different variations of the A. We had hoped to deliver the A in March 2020, but this is unrealistic as we are finding out with our first locomotive releases. A further refinement of tooling and circuit board is currently being completed ahead of decorated samples arriving from China. Unfortunately this means there will be a delay in the delivery of the A Class. We apologise for this, but we must take time and care to ensure these are the best they can be. The decoration samples will be delivered in May and delivery to customers will be October 2020. We know this is not ideal and apologise for this delay, but they have to be right. We have also been working hard behind the scenes on a sound project for the A. ESU travelled to the Downpatrick and Co. Down Railway in mid October where the Irish Traction Group very kindly let them record a bespoke sound project using A39r to capture the mighty GM roar. Work is continuing on capturing the Crossley sound in Australia but as you can see below the GM A Class sound chip is well on its way to being ready in time for launch. A twin speaker arrangement will already be in the locomotive, with the sound chip sold separately. Prices and delivery are TBC. Keep an eye on our website for updates in the coming months! If you are interested in an A Class, make sure you put your name down! It's shaping up to be a truly special model. Order here! View the full article

Whats happening to the spoil wagons?
BosKonay replied to Railer's topic in What's happening on the network?
The MPV 790 apparently. -
I can’t imagine Paddy would object?

The lugs are a part. A touch of glue was added in the factory to stop them getting lost but you can pop them out as needed. We have additional sets on the way that should have come with this shipment. we have warehouses in Dublin and Peterborough so no concerns about brexit or otherwise.

To clarify Noel, the liners are all wearing the correct, brown bogies on the liner packs.

Our container liners are currently landing with modellers across Ireland, the UK and the rest of the world. Unfortunately we managed to forget to include instructions to add the detail parts in the baggie provided, so here is a quick guide on what they are and how to fit them! There are several optional detail parts included with the 42’ flat wagon and container models. The vacuum hose assembly (2)may be fitted to the bufferbeam, but it may restrict the rotation of the bogie, especially if you have tight radius curves on your layout. There is also a container protection device, intended to restrict access to the locking bars of the container doors, and prevent opening the doors if access is gained to the contents. In order to fit the device, firstly remove the container from the wagon. The containers are push fit, and not glued to the container lugs. There are two recesses in the pockets which house the buffers, one on either side of the wagon. Test fit locating the device in the recesses, and when happy to proceed, add a drop of polystyrene cement to each recess, and add the device, positioning the small nibs in the recesses. We have a very limited amount of liners left in stock. Click here to place your order today. View the full article

For what it's worth, there are no large single orders, and we've made the same number of Liners as we did Ballast Wagons (not counting the rest of the Project 42, on which we are spending a very (very) significant 6 figure sum. its also worth a mention that Fran did confirm the liners as our ‘fastest selling model’ only a few short weeks after launch with almost 50% of the run preordered within 3 months We do expect that Marks Models, as well as Chris Dyer and others will be offerings stock of the liners, as we have several trade orders in hand, and as said before, we're looking to see if we can top up the run a little. Hope that helps!

It's a feature of the sample, corrected on the finished item.

You need to use a discount code / promo code now for it to work (we're working on matching up how we do it on accura with set bundles), Drop a line to support@irishrailwaymodels.com to get the code

Simply, not enough people. We're just barely a market that can support OO products to be totally honest.

Andy York just quoted as https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/138791-irm-to-produce-cie-a001-class-locomotive/&do=findComment&comment=3695315 To say we're humbled by that kind of review would be an understatement

This week represents a special landmark for us here at IRM, as we received the first pre-production prototype of our highly antcipated A Class! We've already given it a quick spin around our layout, and we are blown away by the crispness of the detail, the etched grills, the shape, and that performance! It's beautifully heavy and very, very smooth! There are some snags required such as lighting functions, roof details and fit, but overall it is most encouraging! It will take pride of place on our stand at the forthcoming South Dublin Model Railway Show this October Bank holiday weekend, so make sure you drop by for a closer look! We will soon send our feedback to China and then get some firm delivery details. In the meantime check out these pics and place an order if you haven't already done so. These beauties promise to be special. Testing has been ongoing, and so far so good. We have gone big on the internals with our friends at ESU, so, should your A Class hit some points, or dirty track or a dead spot, it will keep running for almost 10 seconds over such track. We timed it being off the track for 9 seconds before the wheels stopped turning! All wheel drive and pick up certainly helps too, and as you can see, on the GM variants rotating axle caps will be present and regauging to 21mm nice and handy. Place your pre-order for your A Class today and dont miss out on what promises to be a very special model of one of Ireland's most iconic locomotives. View the full article

The run, with all 17 versions, will still be somewhat limited, we're looking at probably 250 locomotives per variation.

Thanks Noel, Actually next March is just the 4th anniversary of us 'going for real' into model making, after the ballast hopper adventure

Bearing in mind this first sample does not yet include complete detail, all rivets, roof details, etc

8 Was typical

Our 'Project 42' has been a massive undertaking, with the wagon becoming five projects in one and taking a long time to come to fruition, but we now finally on the home straight! As you can see, we received some decorated samples of the liners. There a some decoration corrections to be made, but that has already been sent to China. The coupling mechanism caused a lot of head scratching and didn't function on our first sample, so this took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to sort, including tooling changes to get right. As it was dealing with die-cast, it took a lot of work. Production has begun, and delivery is in November. It's taken far longer than we would've liked, but we had to ensure that they function correctly as well as look great. The B&I and Bell Containers are special run commissioned by us from CRail Intermodel, while the distinctive 20ft container has been tooled by us and will also be available separately for placing in yards, dioramas and on the backs of lorries etc. in due course. Dont miss out on these babies, order yours today: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/container-liners View the full article
