Ah David, as usual you leave us in the dust. Just bloody lovely. The smokebox door is "so money".
Never heard the expression of "a witness coat", but very apt! Top class job all round.
€12m sounds a bit tight for 25 miles. Ennis to Athenry (35 miles) cost €74, but then was disused for longer with significant civil works. Cork Midletion cost €25 for 7 miles.
However, Foynes won't have to worry about interim stations and the approach to Limerick has already had the motorway over bridges built to cater for a reopening.
Thanking you sir. It was a lot of pleasure and endlessly cycling though the available photos to try and glean as much detail as possible to add to them. Much thanks to Glenderg and Dave Bracken for feedback on these.
I don't subscribe to the oul' "they're the last ones in the shop" approach. These are now fully available and will be for the foreseeable future.
Hi all,
The Ammonia etches have arrived and I will be packing the earliest orders first for delivery in the next few days. Here are some shots of the constructed model.
Replacing the brass tube with a rolled brass barrel has brought the weight down from 220g to 145g.
The brass tube on the Barrier Wagon has also been replaced with a plastic version, reducing the weight from 175g to 110g.
Dear lord, but only for the plastic chicken I would have thought that was the real thing...super.
I'm impressed by that etched one, some very interesting techniques for getting that flanged, T-Bar effect. Nice.
