  2. Thank you irish mail ^ Got a little more done on the engine, not a lot tho. This will will have to be put on pause for a short time until Saturday when I get some detailing bits and bobs. Nelson
  3. Hello Everyone, The weather still isn't being too kind so I've just been sitting inside converting this GBL C class static model into a motorised GNRI PG class engine, the work included cutting through the footplate hollowing out the boiler and and cutting away the cab and cylinder covers. I've rearranged the splashers and added more sandboxes. The Tender has also been shortened and interior added. The engine Is still far from being finished but it's starting to take shape. Thanks Nelson
  4. Awesome work
  5. Thank you Mayner, John there are many, many, many more out there that can be used as a conversion but the only thing is when do you stop and when does it actually become easier to scratch build one instead of converting....
  6. Looking forward to Saturday as well
  7. Thank you guys for your comments and Mike neither could I, which is why I've used a GBL (great British locomotives) static model with a Bachman jinty chassis
  8. It's a fantastic shop, so is modellers nook
  9. Thanks enniscorthyman ^ Here's a sneak preview of the engine I've been working on whilst waiting for some good weather to spray. Nelson Edit: there's still alot of work to do, no where near finished incase anyone was wondering
  10. The engine is coming along really good, nice one, I wish I could build brass kits, there seems to be more variety offered in brass. In the pic above the engine does look black.
  11. Thank you gentlemen for your kind comments, glad you all liked the video.
  12. Google maps will give you an up to date track plan in so much detail,
  13. A rather late video from me.... [video=youtube_share;xQz5yPNNgbk]
  14. Thank you Kirley, I'll definitely be buying more for the future.
  15. Thank you Hunslet, I'm currently undertaking a conversion of a C class into a GNRI PG class, but I don't see it being finished anytime soon, I still need to collect a lot of parts to make it happen. But in the meantime I've been working away on some wagons which just need a day of good weather so I can spray them.
  16. Lovely model frank
  17. Thanks for correcting me Colm, I'm such amateur haha, and that's a great pic JB, you don't mind if I save them for personal use?
  18. Great pic of draperstown
  19. Thank you fellas for your comments, I appreciate them, I will do Popeye, after I finish all my other ones that need doing.
  20. Thank you David ^ Hello fellow modellers, Just a real short update, I think this is my first parkside dundas kit and I'm already lovin them haha, this one went together superb and having the bearings/wheels included makes life alot easier Thanks Nelson Disclaimer: yes it's the wrong colour and yes the lettering is incorrect, but rule 1
  21. Amazing work on those coaches, truly amazing
  22. To me this is fantastic news, although 3D printing isn't quite perfect yet this is very promising for the future, take a look http://www.steamtrainsireland.com/news/ the RPSI are taking scans of 10 vehicles and using it for their museum but also as stated "This project can also be seen as a pilot for making the entire RPSI collection accessible digitally. These assets may also have the potential to generate income for the RPSI through generating small scale models for sale, virtual objects or perhaps future files for 3D printing." Are possibly making 3D printed models to sell, and maybe one day you can print out your very own GNRI V class
  23. Very true John, something for the future. The book "UTA in colour" covers this topic quite well and provides livery details for the 3 engines.
  24. Thanks Kirley, I like the livery a lot.
