  1. Fair play for having a go, it's looking good.
  2. Ahhhhh interesting thanks, I couldn't quite put my finger on what engine it was haha.
  3. 2 beautiful engines, the weathering finishes them off nicely, btw what engine did you use for 85? Looks the part.
  4. As promised here's the pics of the exhibition layout water feature, maybe not what your looking for but it's just 2 layers of woodland scenics realistic water.
  5. Seen it on the news a couple of times, very interesting....
  6. We've used woodland scenics realistic water to create a steady lake, (ill grab some pics tomorrow) but woodland scenics also do realistic water effects and it is used to create ripples and such, here's a video, I did have another one but I can't find it now lol. 7. As David has said, there are already 2 main manufactures producing wagons both RTR and kits, Irish freight models and Provincial Wagons, and with the market for wagons realativly low, 2 manufactures who are producing the main wagons seems to be enough, so other manufactures doing repeats of the same wagon would be quite pointless but anyone who wants to produce different wagons would be greatly welcomed I'm sure by all.
  8. Hello Noel, I'm an amateur but here's how I'd approach this project. Q1) yes you should Q2) I use halfords grey plastic primer and have had no troubles what so ever, I use it straight from the can and it provides a very smooth uniform coat every time, but bare in mind that the colour of the undercoat/primer will affect the shade of the final coat so always check and test that the primer and top coat are going to end up the colour you want. Q3) I would sand the emblem and lining with probably 1000 grade (or more) sandpaper, just to make sure that nothing shows through. So there's how I'd tackle this, but perhaps an expert will offer more advice than myself, Have fun and I hope it goes well, Nelson *Jinx Glenderg * (<--expert btw )
  9. 3 great model shops highly recommend them!, hawkins bazaar also stocks model railway products although theres very little in there, but its still good.
  10. Lovely paint job accurate or not.
  11. A great show, kept me entertained for the full 2 days, as usual you spend too much hahaha.
  12. The landscape looks very well and I like the UTA/CIE tunnel mouths
  13. Thanks guys, don't worry about the illness it's on the mend anyway and soon enough I'll be able to race on with this.
  14. Thank you very much everyone ^ Hello everyone, Not much done to the engine except it's primer coat has been applied, I've been stuck in bed all week with some sort of flu/fever so that's why. And to make things even better the tender dropped out of my hands taking off the steps and weight inside. Ah well. We learn from our mistakes I guess and from the primer coat it's easy to see what areas need to be improved before the black goes on. Nelson
  15. Hello everyone, Just came across this on RMweb http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/97926-ger-j15-with-an-irish-railways-emblem/#entry1843865 and it sounds rather interesting and a brilliant conversion for someone I'm sure, although does anyone have any more info regarding this subject? Nelson
  16. Just when I ordered some haha, looks like I'll have to build another engine lol, thanks Leslie see you there.
  17. Thanks for your help everyone
  18. Hello everyone, I need some GNR transfers for my engine, mainly the letters "GNR" and the number "10". I've checked with studio scale models and they don't have what I need and I'm unsure about the new railtec transfers, so if anyone knows any other company that sells GNR transfers be sure to let me know, or if anyone has any experience with the railtec ones, I'll be interested in hearing from your experiences of them, Thanks Nelson Ps: I'm going to check all the mainland GNR transfers and see if anything suits but I highly doubt it.
  19. Very fine work, nice job.
