  1. Cheers for the comments guys, much appreciated.
  2. Excellent stuff. You can tell that some serious time and effort was put in to achieve that finish. Time consuming no doubt, but always beats just giving the model a blast of an airbrush.
  3. Oh, that's tasty.
  4. Result. That was quick!
  5. I like your thinking. Sounds very good to me
  6. Job done. The most time consuming part of this little project, was trying to cut the doors without causing any noticeable damage. Fitting them back in place, in an open position was also a pain, but worth it. The mirrors also turned out ok. Why the model hadn't got any in the first place is anyone's guess. Adding the passengers and driver has made a big difference. Makes for an interesting scene. Wheels were also painted and weathered, and given a blast of matt varnish. Quite happy with how this has turned out.
  7. It'll look the business, no doubt.
  8. Fantastic shots, Noel.
  9. Even though these are outside my era of interest. I have to admit, I'm seriously tempted to invest in a rake.
  10. I always enjoy watching areas develop on this layout. Lovely stuff.
  11. It's hard to beat the whine and the sound of pure power from an 071, but the 567 engine comes in a close second for me.
  12. Fantastic work. 080 is the standout for me. Really like the grime around the exhaust and fans in particular.
  13. I've always preferred the look of a 141/181 pulling a shorter passenger train. Two cravens and genny always does it for me. Nice weathering on B141. Not overdone, just the bogies carrying most of the dirt.
  14. Wouldn't fancy bumping into those two, when putting the bins out
  15. Brilliant scenes. Always enjoy updates from Dugort.
  16. Looks like they're parking up for the Christmas, Noel.
  17. Merry Christmas to all IRM members. Happy modelling in 2022.
  18. Evening guys, I've just started some work on this Plaxton Bus Eireann single decker. Rather than just plonking it on the layout as it is, I've decided to try make it look that little more interesting. So, the plan of action is... Paint the interior and maybe the wheels. Add a driver and passengers. Cut the doors in half and refit, to appear as if they're open. And finally, I will need to rummage through the spares box and knock up some mirrors.
  19. Oh, that's nice. Very, very nice.
  20. Your perseverance definitely paid off! They look fantastic.
  21. I encountered the same problem when working on mine. I over complicated things, and ended up going around in circles on an 18 wagon rake. The dusting you've given them with the airbrush has blended everything together very nicely. Great work.
  22. Received my copy in the post this morning. Some lovely stuff in there. Apart from the obvious, which for me is locos and rolling stock, there's some excellent shots of the various goods sidings and yards used throughout the period. These are invaluable when it comes to modelling. Anyone else notice the Shales carrying the blue, looks to be quite similar to the original Tara's. Have to say, they look the business in that colour, and was a new one on me. I'll have to sit down over the weekend with a can of the black stuff, and have a proper read of this. Another excellent release, Jonathan.
  23. A few more pics. This time together with the ballast wagons.
