  1. Cheers Noel, thanks for the kind words.I used the old reliable superglue. The joins were given a rub down with a very fine sandpaper before gluing. I've used it previously on other brass kits and have had no issues afterwards. Famous last words, they'll probably fall to bits now after saying that
  2. Finally got around to finishing off the SSM plough vans during the week. You'll probably notice from the plough underneath that I had made a start on weathering these, but then decided to leave it at that. Reason being, I have my pack ordered from IRM and thought it made more sense to hold off and do a job on them as they will be running with my Ballast Wagons eventually. Anyway here's a couple of pics of the now completed vans.
  3. That is a seriously impressive piece of work, absolutely stunning
  4. That is Damn fine work. Best example I've seen of that model to date.
  5. Fair play Noel, persistence paid off in the end.Nice result
  6. Lovely shots as always.073 looks fantastic in its retro livery, my favourite by far.Nice to see 082 aswell with its nameplate, another favourite of mine
  7. Christ Noel, your worse than a politician for changing your mind. Are you sure you haven't got some autoballasters tucked away somewhere, that you take out for a sneaky run when nobody's looking
  8. I'm in the same boat as you Railer. The other half wanted to come along to see what all this fuss about trains is.Went a little like this.... Her: I wont be bored will i ? Me: Not if like 071 class locomotives and don't mind sitting in a Craven all day. Her: What are they ? Me : Bring a word search you'll be grand. Like you I'm really looking forward to this, last one was the Marble Tribesman last year and it was a great day out.
  9. Noel, there are 4 clips down both sides of the coach which are part of the seating. These sit into 4 gaps below the windows which lock the seats to the body. They are located on each end and the centre, you also have a clip on both ends of the chassis that lock into the seating and that holds everything in place. If you turn the coach upside down and part the body from the chassis slightly you'll see where they are located.I used a small flat head screwdriver to do this, just take your time so no damage comes to the model.
  10. Christ Dave, where did you dig that out of.Its in worse condition than the one's rotting away in Inchicore
  11. Lovely work Noel, definitely takes that out of the box look off them and blends everything nicely.Have some Mk2a's that could do with the same treatment when I get the chance.
  12. I was only watching a video a couple of days ago of 216 on loan for ballast cleaning duties and it turns up on Tara Junction. And then there's both 071s in retro livery, where else would you get it
  13. Some lovely shots there. Particularly like 075 crossing the bridge still in silver and black freight livery. Also the close up shot of the CPW shows some great detail of the wagon, which is always helpful when modelling
  14. Welcome to the dark side Noel.
  15. Looks really good Noel. The strip works very well with the tinted windows in the mk2 model, really adds to the effect by diffusing the light slightly.
  16. Lining looks spot on Noel very crisp, lovely finish too with the weathering
  17. Very nice
  18. Brilliant
  19. Sounds like my type of day, can I come too
  20. Always a story to accompany the fantastic pictures.I'll never get bored of Tara Junction
  21. 6 nations finally came to life this weekend, really enjoyed watching France beating England wasn't expecting it at all, have to agree Richie I think Scotland were better than the table will finally show but it's been that type of championship this year.
  22. That is a monster piece of scenic work , very impressive.
