  1. Lighten the mood - also a brief glimpse of the exterior.... [video=youtube;po_I7tFEL-8]
  2. 5408 in the photo and taken after conversion......moving on
  3. Its 5408 closest to the camera, the Presidential coach, which did not see a great deal of use compared to most MK2's so Id not use this as a comparison photo. Its parked in the same spot of the works that it usually resided in too. Its still in immaculate condition today too - the only surviving CIE MK2D kitchen
  4. The years stamped underneath were the years the model itself was first introduced, rather than that livery
  5. Will leave that for the keyboard wackers, ahem Gurus........
  6. This is the thing - a real modeller will make his own rather than make do with whatever muck is available, then or now
  7. Sums it up really, the negatives outweigh the pluses - of which there are hardly any
  8. If you model Irish in HO scale and run on P4 scale track its a perfect representation of 1600mm/5'3... OO Scale on 21mm better imo, less work.......
  9. Is criticism good or bad? There are those who are happy with models as they are, then there are those who strive to make things more authentic At the end of the day its a model, Im personally disappointed that there is not a miniature internal combustion engine inside each locomotive, the toilets dont work in the coaches, or that you cant prepare a meal in the restaurant.... They are models...
  10. Your contradicting yourself there I think.... You say everyone is entitled to an opinion, but you precede that comment by saying there cannot be negative opinions...
  11. Pay your money, gets your choice and all that
  12. Bit more than that needed and no...

    RIP Bob Symes

Sad news, he was an ambassador for railways and railway modelling in general. Was good on tomorrows world too
  14. Post it here.......
  15. A good proportion of the range has been covered by other manufacturers. Keep in mind that not everyone collects kits either, only the few and usually you can charge higher prices
  16. Pity not as many wagon kits come with bearings these days
  17. Where are you based - can take these tonight - 45 is a good price
  18. Brought 500+ mags to the recycling plant last week - typical
  19. Why cosmetically restore it when there is an identical one there that works, and 226 might end up there some day too... Just humanely put it out of its misery, its a pile of scrap, totally stripped of almost everything
  20. Interesting in that video how far the CPW's roll back when the loco buffers up after running round...
  21. In the beginning - there was a branding exercise
  22. When the De Dietrichs were being upgraded first, there were mixed rakes, might not be the case for the new livery though...
  23. 3 - always liked the livery, prob as I was very young then and buses were exciting...
  24. Decent price for one, thats roughly what I paid for mine.
  25. The Kato/Hobbytrain V65 is the best of the lot; very heavy, worm drive, double reduction gearing, will easily pull 100+ wagons without a second thought......
