  1. Id agree with DC kits/Silverfox being very hit and miss. Never forget seeing the Silverfox model of the prototype diesel locos Lion and Falcon, you could just see the Lima Class 47's in the mouldings......
  2. Silverfox will be a made up version of the DC kits one
  3. You will need to fill in 1 toilet window too as 1 toilet was removed to facilitate more luggage space Id wait until the new Bachmann MK2F's are here, if you dare of course
  4. Very glad this forum only represents a small minority of modellers........
  5. No - but unless the model is 2 inches from your face you wouldnt notice - only 2 liveries had the original lights, the leds have had 5....
  6. These are the production models - The font of the numbers is wrong too and the worksplates are missing, ie not printed. Also the silencer is the same colour as the body. 208 only gained its nameplates after a repaint into Enterprise livery, 209 has never had its ones fitted. I really really want to like these models as they come but they will need a bit of fettling to please me - but at the same time its good to make a good thing better.... The shape is spot on, the mechanism, detail etc is great, but the decoration lets them down

Who knows - but given the 80 class railcars were all fitted with them too......
  8. Is that the little friend inside your head 'holds nose'
  9. Would the main Dublin-Cork road have been CWR by 1980? I know it was being rolled out around this time. Consider Marcway points too, since its going to be a running layout and you dont want the trackplan/scenery etc ruined by poor running.... Will make for an interesting era too, just around the time of the Buttevant disaster which hastened the withdrawal of wooden bodied stock, not to mention plenty of freight and loco variety
  10. what ever happened to paint your own.......
  11. As Ive said before - nothing will happen with this one...... Very little chance given the idea men have already had a go.......
  12. Particularly at the start of their careers there was a lot of modification done to the fleet, minor stuff too
  13. Was referring to the ideamen. Its yet another Could of - Should of - Would of scenario
  14. Yup but the holes were they go would remain. No doubt Ill find something to improve on, even if its just personal preference........eg I detest the wipers on the 071's, overscale imo
  15. Not true........and once again we are off on the ever decreasing merry go round Two Words - Good Luck.
  16. Not sure about condition, but 124/134 will be in IE livery, hopefully with LED lights. 5 liveries for the 121 too, doubt PM will do every body variant but other things to remember are that when they were delivered they did not have the handrails along the 'bonnet'. Lots of mould differences and they are not cheap
  17. MRSI - O Gauge Dorset Junction. Took a whole day to film
  18. 8208/209 are the only ones that never got them filled in. 225 got a repaint in the original livery with the steps filled in, before the Intercity livery came alone. Plenty of minor variants
  19. I did the red line on my NIR 547 with a marker

    MK3 Scrapping

Timbers, bubble cement, bogie cement, 2 axle spoils...does not seem so long ago now
  21. Bleach Green Junction needs a serious attack of the weathering kind, the scenery, the track and the stock. All too squeaky clean for my liking. Even road dirt would suffice. I know trains were kept cleaner back then but they still got dirty. Baile Cois Farraige was the only layout there with weathered stock...
