  1. Interesting thread, but it shows the size of the market in the UK and interest in everything. Heljan alone cornered the market in Diesel Prototypes, Bachmann with their sublime Blue Pullman and what DJ Models and Rapido have planned the market will be good. Many years ago Lima said they would not make a model unless it was possible to release it in 3 prototype models - does not seem to be the case anymore. The Heljan Class 16 marked the last mainline diesel model to be made in OO scale, now everything is a duplicate of one kid or another
  2. Id say the Bachmann NEM bars, come with the coaches
  3. A driver in Heuston might know
  4. Must be a rich man heading to Cork to have chips fitted
  5. More or less totally rebuilt, inside and out
  6. Its so when you buy it and its a pig you cant complain - 'sold as seen' rarely works on ebay, given how quik people are to moan
  7. Carefully remove body by hacking with a pickaxe or a sledgehammer. Then dismantle the model by using brute force. Pull everything apart Place all parts into a food blender, along with a careful mix of water, washing up liquid and brake fluid. Blend for precisely 6 minutes and 37 seconds. Reassemble and et voila - shiny new loco ready for another few years sat on the shelf in its box

    Class A

Understatement of the year right there....... The CIE drawing will also show you that the windscreens are the wrong size, shape and position on the SF model and the EMD headlight is not even centered.......

The final solution has been posted earlier and people still maintaining 2 power bogies are better (Off topic - were there Evergreen and M SC containers in 1981?)

MM 141 chassis is almost a direct fit for a C - if you have the courage.......

    Class A

There was a lot of work put into this SF model of the A class - didnt come like that originally and Im not talking about the SSM detailing parts either...
  18. Its been done in the past, but things have moved on and will continue to do so. Having said that a careful conversion will look better than the SF model, almost identical length between a 33 and an A...
  19. Just looks like the big layout plan everyone foams over in a trackplans book......
  20. Hardly be a realistic Irish layout with that track layout...
  21. Prepare to either have your hand ripped off or to be severely insulted...
  22. As 226 has said, they obviously have what people want to buy at the right price. A model shop cant survive alone on railways, over 20 years since the last purely model railways shop closed....
  23. Surprised our resident expert has not suggested swopping in a MM 141 chassis....almost a direct fit....
  24. Love the ballasting, Irish style too
