  1. Might be of interest - http://www.askaboutireland.ie/reading-room/environment-geography/physical-landscape/castlecomer-plateau/coalmining-in-castlecomer/mining-equipment-and-inve/ - if you haven't already seen it..

  5. Time to add another search on eBay..?
  6. If they had orange waistcoats on it would be alright. I would have shoved that lad in the smokebox and shut the door....
  7. Glues sand on the rails to combat leaf induced slippage - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandite
  8. Most of the current collection occurs on the loco wheels, due to the traction tyres on the tender - the wires transfer the current. I've been inside the tender - I wonder if the body is just clipped on - can't remember and it isn't here at the moment to check.. http://web.blissett.me.uk/house/hornby-service-sheets/ss-204.jpg

  10. Seconded - I sent an agent to investigate on my behalf, as I won't make it over until next week now - he was suitably impressed by it all..
  11. Could do with a sort of Street View feature..!
  12. From the other side - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=waterford&hl=en&ll=52.279075,-7.150158&spn=0.00552,0.009645&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=10.873972,19.753418&t=h&hnear=Waterford,+County+Waterford,+Ireland&z=17&layer=c&cbll=52.278944,-7.150338&panoid=H8I0q3NaZeHUqDVabbv_sA&cbp=12,135.44,,2,1.23
  13. Uploaded August 2007. It looks like the original one..
  14. We'll see if there's any reaction - YouTube got excited enough when I put up a video of someone doing a cover of a Neil Diamond song...
  15. I've flagged it - again. I was also surprised that it's still there, but it is - after five years now....
  16. And, closer to home -
  17. When you start to get the hang of them, you could have a go at the capital letters, as well...
  18. Confused me for a minute, there - I wondered if Thomas the Tank Engine was available as Gaelige..?
  19. Not something to put on your application for the post of signalman...
  20. 12
  21. 11?
  22. Fair enough - it sounded a bit iffy to me - enough people have been doing it for long enough for the problem to be well-known, if it was real. There are other people reporting a similar thing when they've used PVA - so, it's probably down to the lead they're using - if that is really what it is..
  23. There has been talk, in the past, of a superglue/lead reaction taking place on a few occasions - http://www.ratomodeling.com/articles/lead_ca/lead_ca.html - I'm not sure how true it all is, though.. Time will tell.
  24. Some versions of the old Dock Shunter had milled edges on the wheels - like a 10p piece or a €1 coin. Not really visible in the picture. It does give them a bit of a 'growl' though..
  25. Here's a smallish one - going the wrong way round a roundabout.. It gets a bit less shaky as it goes on..
