  1. its time for the Steam Rally in Stradbally again, and as expected its raining. should be a good weekend and if ye have nothing to do, come along for the craic. a really unexpected twist is that my eldest daughter 'Maeve' (yes, named after no 800) is entered in the 'Steam Queen' competition representing Dunnes Pub. the thoughts of her on one of the old steamers parading through the town gives me goosebumps! i hope all of them have a ball! will post a few pics asap.

  3. was the 'failte' plate on the craven there just for the pic or was it a permanent feature?
  4. that is the most realistic fence complete with mucky base i have seen - and i thought that the wall was good? superb=D keep expecting a heap of germans to charge it at any time - would look fab in a world war 1 scene!

  7. DCC is the way - you can run as many trains as you like on the same length of track with one controller! its not cheap, a Lenz controler will set you back a fortune''' look here - http://www.dccsupplies.com/shop/index.php?cPath=24_29_91 Hornby ones are cheaper and more available here for around 120 euro, with dcc chips at around 20 euro. so a lot of saving needed depending onwhat you want. hope this dosnt turn you off modelling:rolleyes: - good luck with whatever you decide and keep us yobs posted!

yeah, it was a pity that paddy couldnt have produced the model without numbers and include a sheet of decals of different ones, but its great to have that livery !

  19. came accross this pic on my computer and i have to say that 102 'Falcon' is one of - if not the most elegant locomotives that ever ran on irish metals, particularly in that livery with the rectangular warning panel.... have all 3 Huns with the V yellow panel, but i think i will be investing in the one above. now - if i could only find where 'she who must be obeyed' hid the holiday money
