airfixfan Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Must be one of the few people to travel on MPD 64 to Derry and back from York Road! 2
Darius43 Posted December 20, 2022 Author Posted December 20, 2022 Another MPD joins the fleet… Next on the bench will be No.64 in UTA Brunswick Green livery. Cheers Darius 12 2 1
Robert Shrives Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 As always well observed and sharp modelling. Robert 1
Darius43 Posted February 22, 2023 Author Posted February 22, 2023 MPDs DCC fitted, tested and boxed ready for “running in” on the Middlemark layout this coming weekend. Also boxed something for them to pull along… Cheers Darius 5
LARNE CABIN Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Will look forward to seeing photos/video of that "running in" session, @Darius43. Looks like typical Larne Line consist, MPD's, Red Star Parcels containers and Brown Van. 2

You mention this often and contemporary photos show them. That said I’m afraid that I’m not prepared to go over these models with a hammer and centre punch. Cheers Darius 1 3
jhb171achill Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Exceptional work, Darius - I very much enjoy seeing this collection grow! 1
Darius43 Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Tested the two MPDs on the Middlemark layout today. They can just about propel themselves but pulling wagons is a no no, with wheel spin on R3 curves. Some more weight around the motor bogie is needed. Watch this space… Cheers Darius 2

Darius43 Posted March 4, 2023 Author Posted March 4, 2023 MPD No.63 out and about. Cheers Darius 9 1 7
jhb171achill Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Those are truly inspirational, and represnt a subject not given nearly enough attention by either modellers or railway historians in general - the UTA and early NIR era. All the kore so because it kept steam until 1970 and had a very unique Donegal-esque modus operandi with railcars hauling good trains and no diesel locomotives. Right down to the paint jobs those models are stunning. 6 1 1
Darius43 Posted October 26, 2024 Author Posted October 26, 2024 (edited) UTA “Sputnik” MPD No.42 - Dapol coach with Comet sides and scratch built undergibbons. Decals are by Railtec. Cheers Darius Edited October 26, 2024 by Darius43 6 2
gibbo675 Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Hi Darius, Here is a file full of drawings some of which are railcars and some of which are all sorts of other stuff you may find useful: Irish outline drawings.zip Gibbo. 1 2
Darius43 Posted November 3, 2024 Author Posted November 3, 2024 (edited) Thanks Gibbo - I had a set of the MPD drawings on my old laptop but it has since died with them still on board. Cheers Darius Edited November 3, 2024 by Darius43
