Patrick Davey Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 This should be interesting I have the above x 4, so 48 in total. As usual, a very high quality product from Modelu. Getting ready to spray white primer, then I will pick out the details. Can’t have a coastal layout without the ubiquitous sandwich grabbers 3 1

Galteemore Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 I know you’re desperate to have a model of 171 Patrick….. is this some kind of subliminal message to IRM? I suppose the next thing we’ll see are van loads of sleeves from Brookhall arriving… 2
Metrovik Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 I'll be honest, this kinda looks like a horror film..... 4

David Holman Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 There is the question of what species are they? No such thing as a 'sea gull', instead many types from little to greater black backed, but in 4mm scale, quite how anyone could distinguish them is a challenge. The shade of grey on their backs, plus the colour of feet and beak sets them apart to some extent. Most of these will be herring or lesser black backed. 2
Tullygrainey Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Am I herring you right? You bought 48? People will be flocking to see this. 2

Flying Snail Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 You need to watch the bills with seagulls - don't try to wing it or you'll get in a flap! 3
Broithe Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Did they come with feet? Or do you have to find your own on the web? 2
Patrick Davey Posted May 3, 2024 Author Posted May 3, 2024 47 birdies ready to stick on the layout. One seems to have flown off….. 6
Tullygrainey Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 All this, and synchronised swimming as well! Wow! 1
Galteemore Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 (edited) But surely there’s only one bird fit for Clogherhead….the loon, better known as….the Great Northern Diver….. Edited May 4, 2024 by Galteemore 1

Seriously, the gulls look great. 2
Broithe Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 I gannet get enough of this kind of thing, but I do hope that everybody gets a tern. Might they have been a bit easier to paint, if you stuck them on a skua? 3

David Holman Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Feet should be either yellow, pink, or grey . With that number of birds you are probably going to need to make a fair bit of guano... 2

It's jarring to biologists to see inappropriate species depicted on layouts. 5
David Holman Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Episodes of Poirot, frequently annoy me as they rarely get the right locomotive for the period. 1
