I know I'm repeating myself from Darius' thread, but the lights really do add something special to the scene. A very nice layout indeed - you must be nearly there now?

Thanks but stíl loads to do... Another bundle coming from Gerrmay today. Spending far too much on this!!

Little vid.

Hi Folks,

Bit of an up a down this week, The Steam loco is kaput for some reason or another. No blanking plate to test of dcc so had to order a plux 22 decoder to test if it is the decoder or otherwise. bit of a shame that, Probably need to go back to Roco for a fix. This is the 2nd issue I have had with a Roco Loco where I had to replace a motor in a barely used 1099.

On the plus side my order for a sound equipped 1099 arrived so had a little play with that. electric locos really sound weird when compared to diesels and steam! It is an upgrade of the earlier models I bought with LED lighting and cab lights. I preferred the Filament bulb glow really.

Also some passengers installed in 2 coaches, you can barely see them!

Got some viessman platform lighting kits as well and 2 cranes from Kibri. hate string being used for cables so will change that as they never hang straight down.

Sorry to bore the hole off you lads but another bit done this evening.

I chose to obtain the Viessman lighting kit, product number 6726 for €5.63 each as opposed to around €14.00 each ready to plant options. A simple, enjoyable and dare I say an exciting outcome, They all worked! one wire had come off a LED but easily soldered back on.

Ignore the platform edge sticking up, its not glued down yet. toying with a few lights in the station building.

After the boring F1 decided to do more boring stuff! I wanted to add in a viewpoint of the gorge and waterfall so needed a bridge to the viewing area. Lots of gricers get up their too. The spares box was raided and came up with this. Probably overkill and you could run a panzer 4 over it rather than the odd solo hiker.

2 2nd hand luggage and passenger coaches arrived today. Hard to get so delighted with these. The wife not so much as I used her baking sieve to sieve some soil out for the layout and there was a few tiny stones stuck in it that got into the cake mix. Ooops

Do I see some transporter wagons in that freight train? One of my favourite things to see on a model.

Yep, Only came across these things recently. Amazing!

Major planning error, one mast between the siding and running line is too close to the wagons and they snag so I can only reverse in at the moment. Might get a mast that can be located out side the siding to enable straight through running.

Funny you should find that - I also had a problem with clearances to masts with my transporters, despite my best efforts to plan it out. Bogie wagons on pairs of transporters have particularly large overthrows on curves.

Got some . 5mm static grass and leaves from GModel Scene - Supplies for railway modellers and builders! and had a go at a hedge for the hotel.

Need to sort the lights in that next as I am sick of looking at it roofless

That looks fantastic, What Railway is that from? any chance of a few more piccies.

When I laid the track I did no thave the Transporter wagons at the time so did not allow for it. I might make up a mast from some brass and use the arms from one of the RTR jobs. and place it outside the siding. Wont look right I reckon though.

Thanks! It's a big project of mine, but a slow burner and I keep getting distracted onto different things. The model is Om scale, and there's a thread on it over on RMweb:

https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/184135-the-broc-branch-in-om-scale-an-ambitious-project-that-stalled-for-a-decade-but-is-now-reawakening/

The prototype is the Swiss line from Bulle to Broc-Fabrique (a chocolate factory), metre-gauge for most of its life, including the 1980s period I'm modelling, when it was operated by GFM. From the 1950s to the 1980s, transporter wagons were used for the freight. They then changed to transporter bogies, used until the 2010s. The line has now been regauged to standard and lost much of its character, and there's no longer any freight!

I've got quite a few transporter wagons of different lengths, based on the mix of second-hand vehicles bought by the GFM in the 1950s and 1960s:
