Flying Snail Posted Friday at 09:16 Posted Friday at 09:16 I have to say Darius that I'm a little disappointed .... I thought this layout would have been finished by the end of last week, you must be slowing down! In all serious, this build is something else - you are not only progressing at speed, you're producing excellent models that catch the prototype's beauty and uniqueness. It's a joy to open up the browser every morning and see what you've done the day before. I don't know what we'll do when its finally finished? Enjoy plenty of running videos and shots I hope 1 4 2

Mol_PMB Posted yesterday at 11:17 Posted yesterday at 11:17 Wonderful! Those trains look perfectly at home. 1 3
Galteemore Posted yesterday at 12:31 Posted yesterday at 12:31 Totally captures the place. Having visited there pretty much weekly growing up, you’ve nailed its distinctive look. Just need 171 or 4 crawling past the Station Bar with Portrush Flyer ECS…… 1
leslie10646 Posted yesterday at 12:49 Posted yesterday at 12:49 At last I have worked out how you did this. Apart from the fact that you were a Civil Engineer, a few posts ago was posted at 0617 - THERE ARE THREE OF YOU AND YOU'RE WORKING SHIFTS! It's just brilliant, very well done! 1 7

leslie10646 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Lord, I remember THAT swimming pool. COLD did not describe the Arctic waters! 1
Darius43 Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago When we moved to Belfast in 1978 we tried swimming off a beach near Glenarm on the coast road. Once the water got above my ankles my feet were totally numb and we gave up the attempt. The only swimming I ever did in NI was in the BRA swimming pool. Cheers Darius 1
Galteemore Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Sea was warmer than BRA pool IIRC! Edited 2 hours ago by Galteemore 1
leslie10646 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The "Inst" one was OK, I think - but, of course, the Fees were more and you get what you pay for! When I was learning to swim, it was Templemore Avenue Baths - and that wasn't very warm! For you younger "Southerners", Templemore Avenue's great claim to fame was its FLUTE Band, where the great James Galway first learnt his trade. Aren't you all amazed that I can remember this stuff in my eightieth year! 3
skinner75 Posted 22 minutes ago Posted 22 minutes ago I avoid sea, rivers, canals, lakes - any more water than the shower is not for me! If I had kids, I'd show them Jaws and Piranha movies from a very young age, and tell them that the sea around Ireland has killer sharks, and that the rivers & lakes are full of piranha - that should keep them away from the waters!
