Evening all,

As alluded to in yesterday's update, the second part of the pictures are now online and feature the latest progress of the LUAS Cross City construction from Broombridge to St. Stephen's Green.

Great progress has been made in the City Centre over the last few months with track laying now underway in most areas. The work in O'Connell Street won't commence until later in the year after the 1916 Easter Rising commemorations have taken place.

Great pics wanderer. It's nice to see the project from a different perspective. The MGWR retaining walls in the cutting have proven very problematic during design and still give me nightmares! :)

Nice photo.

The imagery echoes parallels of a modern Ford Mondoe passing a Ford Mustang V8 powerhouse :)

PS: The kinks in the rails in the middle of the point must be quite uncomfortable for pax when a train runs over it at any sort of speed.

I see 071 has the new handbrake wheel fitted along with it's high vis numbers. 084 has the the same but it's been dumped outside the Connolly Shed for 2 weeks now. The new rend hand wheel is much larger, sticks out more from the main body works and has only three spokes.

Have to agree. Though I loved the old Orange livery, there's something quite industrial and almost brutalistic about the plain grey.

It suits freight working.
