richrua Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I see hattons are closing the shop in Liverpool and moving the lot to the warehouse. There's no public transport link to the new warehouse shop. Pity that. When i got the boat to the Liverpool games I would often get a bus up to hattons to kill an hour. No chance now its a taxi job !

Warbonnet Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I wonder are they lining up to sell online only..... They said they'll have an extensive shop in the new place. They made £24 million last year!!!! Wowsers!

StevieB Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I've always found them very good people to deal with, so good luck to them. Stephen
DiveController Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 That's some turnover! They had very economical shipping rates for overseas and their website was very transparent making all the VAT and shipping calculations at checkout rather than "we'll send you a quote later". Staff exceptionally nice to deal with also
WRENNEIRE Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 They said they'll have an extensive shop in the new place. They made £24 million last year!!!! Wowsers! They turned over 24 bar Fran, I reckon on their margins they made about 2 bar
richrua Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 To be honest the shop itself was not much to write home about. It always was a mail order outfit long before tinterweb Just nice to put a real place to something. Also it was on the corner of Penny Lane ... Always good for the soul!
Dave Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 They have moved quite close to an existing model shop so I wonder how it will affect their business
Warbonnet Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 They turned over 24 bar Fran, I reckon on their margins they made about 2 bar Apologies, it was £14, not £24. You wouldn't get out of bed for that! http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/hattons-model-railways-moves-out-10767754
The Derry Road Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Good luck and best wishes to Hattons on the relocation of their shop. I've always found them pleasant and fair to do business with in the past forty odd year's. TDR
