Dempsey Posted Wednesday at 19:09 Author Posted Wednesday at 19:09 C Class build. Armed with lessons learned from adding custom details and learning the inner workings of model locomotives from my SD40 build i took on to build out a C Class from silver fox. Armed with etched parts from SSM work has officially begun. I've begun by cutting out all the vent on the sides to be replaced with etched grating. Below you can see a few photos along with an etched grating dry fitted in place. Your thoughts as always are appreciated. Chris 7
popeye Posted Wednesday at 19:32 Posted Wednesday at 19:32 I have done one, still not finished and another not started. Good luck. 1
Mol_PMB Posted yesterday at 06:45 Posted yesterday at 06:45 Which engine variant are you building? In most cases I think that location would have a louvre panel rather than a grille. Crossley (pic from Ernie): Maybach (pic from Ernie): EMD (pic from Jonathan Allen): 1

It'll be modeled towards the tail end of service so it'll be looking quite worn out too. The grilles are more to create a little uniqueness. Thank you for the reference pictures. Chris 2
Dempsey Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago C class update. Progress continues. Openings on one side fully cut out and the grilles as below are dry fitted. Nothing will be glued until all cutting is complete. Your thoughts as always are appreciated. Chris. 1
