C Class build.

Armed with lessons learned from adding custom details and learning the inner workings of model locomotives from my SD40 build i took on to build out a C Class from silver fox. Armed with etched parts from SSM work has officially begun. 

I've begun by cutting out all the vent on the sides to be replaced with etched grating. Below you can see a few photos along with an etched grating dry fitted in place.

Which engine variant are you building? In most cases I think that location would have a louvre panel rather than a grille.

It will be the "EMD engine". It'll be modeled towards the tail end of service so it'll be looking quite worn out too. 

The grilles are more to create a little uniqueness.

C class update.

Progress continues. Openings on one side fully cut out and the grilles as below are dry fitted. Nothing will be glued until all cutting is complete.

With all the cutting now complete the brass parts are glued in place. As I have a dcc donor loco for this project I am not looking forward to trying too drill out all the light fittings on both ends to allow for running lights.
