  1. For around 2 quid not worth the hassle but if this was something with a larger price and they did not convert from USD to EUR then this would be worrying for sure.
  2. Any chance of moving to Ireland John, Might make things a bit cheaper post wise!!
  3. I'll kick this off, There is another picture somewhere 1971 of me on a Footplate but this will have to do for now. Horsted Keynes 1972. Possibly still my favourite station in the UK. Love the subway, love the Waiting room having a sup while steamers pass by...Signal is gone now and this of course was the limit of the line back then, how they have blossomed. Wonder how my Southern Interest Started...then this is it I reckon.
  4. Does not give any information though Tony on if it is prepaid or not, Technically if there is no postage fee or incoterms noted we would have to add that on to our customs entry. maybe the same here too.
  5. tempted myself, It would keep my City of Truro company! Sush!!!
  6. I'd reckon it just the way it slopes upwards in the pic of the model, like the real deal, the qtr view angle accentuates it. there is always a 2nd hand example in Hattons to plumb for.
  7. Well she has been running all day , not to bad now in all fairness, Bit of a Growl from the Motor still so might investigate that at some stage. Went to put on the extra details parts, the front coupling hook was actually rusty, The Other Cylinder Steam pipes, long version were not in the bag either. Little vid of it bombing along as well. 8. Well Kernow have confirmed I was right so there exports should be ok from here. Looks like the coms did not get all the way to the person that needed it.
  9. Taric is for Europe John. you might be on the HTS set up there.
  10. Hi Folks, In the end had to obtain one from Blighty as the LMS could not confirm or Deny the one I ordered was coming in. Ah well. As per previous mail Kernow had the wrong code but that was sorted and no duty applied. In fact Vat was underpaid too but hey I am not complaining! You may of read the tales of woes with this loco with damage to the smoke deflectors being a major really unfixable one so I was expecting the worst when I open the box. I did the quick rattle test and all seemed ok, However upon opening I noticed the Tender Coupling drawbar was at an unusual angle and a few bit of plastic fell out of the packaging along with a foot step (See pic 2) . Balls. I did not fancy sending it back as you will have issues with customs and the replacement one coming back would not doubt be subject to another 50 slobs of taxes.(One of the benefits of dealing with Local shops) so a quick appraisal on the damage , Small bit of plastic tubing to hand and some Superglue I had it fixed and in action. See pic 3. Not a great runner at this time and she is still running in. This should of been a stunner really but I feel it is more of a dealz type loco give various other issues like the running plate being warped over the cylinders and the plastic fittings well just look plastic. And of course the last wheel set of the rear Trailing truck the wheels don't touch the track so does not move.... This is for me Dads shelf anyhow so wont be on my layout for long.
  11. That Cab is just lovely and I like the Satin Finish too. Looks very very nice.
  12. I don't mind the Multi packs if they keep the price down, I am lucky to be able to have the sponds to get these. Good idea in buying a pack a flogging the rest. The multi packs are grand for the long trains for sure. And that's probably the main issue for me and others is space and the Length of the Irish Trains, so has me thinking about Modelling and how to Model an Irish layout properly. Ie Mk.3 lengths and block trains but thats my own issue!! Grand with a 141 and a few cravens to muck about with. but even a Large 12ft layout with proper rake of Mk.3's looks daft.
  13. If you buy Railway stuff you are fine, Other toys etc would have to be declared under their own codes and duty applied if need be. and this is a year on....Man Alive.
  14. Its a W1 Hush Hush so 0% applies. I've explained the reasoning behind the codes to them, Ie other toys with Motors, Not sure if it is HMRC has advised them or a consultant. Man Alive If they are importing their Railway stuff from China into the EU before and now the UK with this code then they are due some Claw back on duties. Wonder could I get a cut!!
  15. Be warned Kernow are Classifying their shipments under a Tariff code with duty, I have a parcel with DPD I am playing Email tennis with them on. Who ever advising them need to be sent away somewhere dark. Electrics trains have their own code 950300300, See arrow in the pic below, Kernow advise it is 95030075 which is 4% in the circle. Doing me head in.
  16. Nice Shar, have 1 or to in the Stash. The 15 is lovely too, Iraqi killer with 2 kills, Probably seen that in one of my numerous visits to the Heath. Great spot for watching the LN aircraft. the C/D wont have much longer there with the F-35 dues soon
  17. I've been running the MK.2 recently. Like others no end of trouble with the coupling hooks, Springs too soft in the which tend to bounce the coupling off of each other. Also some Irish locos, 201 included ,the coupling hooks droop and go under the rolling stick tension locks causing derailments when pushing stock. The 201 Coupling set up I would expect was a difficult thing to design and have it sit right. I have 201 running around there, started to stutter and stall but a quick picks ups and wheel clean job oxo lovely runner.
  18. Rails have 20% off Gaugemaster controllers Combi Single Track Controller/ Plug in Transformer (1 amp) – Rails of Sheffield
  19. This one is the worst out of the lot, Look at the rate on the Transformer!!! How they get awa sticking this crap into a set is beyond me This is a they Baccy one, Flipping heck the price used to be round €20 quid 7 years ago. Nuts.
  20. Bit late but you could of got 100 to 75 convertors. Transition Tracks – PECO (peco-uk.com) www.hattons.co.uk - Peco Products SL-112 Converter rail joiners/fishplates code 75 to 100 for OO & HO gauge - Pack of 12
  21. If they still do them get onto Marks and get a Bachmann controller and Transformer, Loads more amps. The Amount of Hornby sets that came back was unreal as the power was really poor.
