Hi all, My Dad picked this one up at the IPMS show in Dublin this year but was unable to make it so was handed over to muggins to make. As Humbrol has disappeared from Marks and Revell Stock Well depleted I resorted to AK 3rd Gen Acrylics. A big step after 40 years of Enamels. Testing using the bottom feed airbrush was a disaster with clogging and splutter. Remembering I purchased a Top Feed Badger Infinity just before I moved from Marks Models so dragged that out and hey presto result. The AK stuff was sprayed using no primer and masked over with no issues however the paint is easily scratched off the plastic so the next Gannet will have primer on it so hopefully will be a bit more tougher! Once done an oil pin wash was done and wiped away highlighting the lines. Overall happy with the result.

Ah it was not that bad if you booked early enough, I remember booking up flights in the 90's in July for IAT Fairford, 88 Punts with EI. Took Me Camera Gear, Step Ladder, Tent and clothes back for nothing extra. probably have the ticket somewhere if I looked. Hate to see what that would cost with FR. Back then you only travelled if you had to. Now Like Noel I hate it, Now Take the Ferry to the UK when I have to. So Silver Fox can't or won't deduct the VAT from the invoice?

You'd want more than a Tweezer tbh! Fraid I as gonna break the Coupling with the pressure, same as pulling the Bogie out had to push it out from the top! In the end I took the bogie off, then the coupling altogether and a squeezed and dragged the buggar out. Plastic on those is extremely hard,

Heading up toDonegal via Enniskillan last weekend saw me pop into the Modellers Den and they had some 121 sound chips on the shelf so second one was purchased, 645 variant. Both 121 now have sound decoders in them, and they do sound sweet. Especially shunting. This is using a NCE cab but when I consist of them the sound functions seem not to be available under the consist number, Maybe I need another read of the Manual again! Here on the MM Mark 2's. Order them earlier and got the 20% off. Should make a nice colourful addition to the Irish set stock. 58 quid a pack! DJ, For me it was a case of loads of things coming together VRS the cash in hand so these were put on the long finger and kinda paid off. There is a qty of 42 of one pack left so interesting if the punters will go for this. Did no know they ran so long in this livery, and I have never actually seen a Tara train in action. From 1977 and repainting in the early 1990s, with Supertrain, Supertrain with IR logos and IR white lined livery providing motive power during this time.
