  1. The Model Certainly looks extremely nice for sure. "Looking at a Hornby model and have one of these beauties beside it" What Hornby loco are you comparing it to? Compare a Similar sized / price of loco say the Hornby Class 31, Opening Doors, Interior Cab detail, Moving Fan, Lights, Ok No speaker (It came out some time ago). Solid die cast chassis (expect for earlier Versions and Railroad) Absolutely fab model, I love mine to bits. Runs like a beauty too and pulls like a devil
  2. yes this has already affected by purchasing TBH looking at my bank balance!. I will think very long and hard about getting bits n bobs from the UK these days. I might test the waters on some thing small however to see if stuff will still make it through. Levying VAT on everything is gonna slow stuff right down and create backlogs big time.
  3. "new technology to make online shopping easy" - should read easier to take more money off you suckers.
  4. Some Vid of the Engine room on the last trip I had on this beauty, It was being looked after by an Irish Lad. The low howling sound is the Water Pump feeding the boiler. Oh the Smell!! This mesmorising! MVI_5176.MOV
  5. Those Locos are in right good nick, Well looked after!
  6. Sure is, It Calls to NI during the year. Leaving Glasgow for excursions today. Seems to be Just Scotland at the moment.
  7. Thanks Noel, the shaft has no gland neeed Noel, its an apparently a Sealed Shaft but this will be packed with Silicon RC Grease to stop any leaks as the shaft is below waterline. That worked on the ol fellas puffer that leaked through the shaft, Squeezed some Grease into it and sorted! No leak.
  8. Hi Lads, Thanks for the Comments, Been Beavering away here and have managed to get a few small items done over the past while but the most tedious one has been done and that is the Armoured Deck Plating and punching the Rivets but I have that done Saturday all day and I have now pre shaded with white and Black and then laid the green on the top. I am quite pleased with this as a Flat green Deck would of looked a bit toy like. Took it out in he ambient light to see though what it looked like. Weathering also has been started on the Box, Front Gun and ammo Boxes by the Main cabin. Sunday took the the Knockmealdown mountains for a 13K hike to calm me nerves after slicing the top of my Left hand thumb off with the Scalpel! Parents were not available or supervision for Help at the time
  9. LOL, Had 4 FCLs in the USA today, All turned around to go by Air to Ireland now. Ouch! Hope you don't get hit too bad here.
  10. An a class is in there somewhere! tis on the film thread on this forum, Darling Lilli, pushed a steamer whilst under cover. Page 34 of Barry Carse's Metro Vicks book has a colour picture of it
  11. Hope tis this one in the next run, Saves me buying a luggage van then,, who whoooo!
  12. few year to go yet kid. probably about 30 or so if I am lucky. Thing is I met a few lads paragliding while up the mountains. love to have a bash at it. 10 locos sold off would have me right to give it a bash!
  13. I have a spread sheet done up, When you tally it up the Figures become a tad Scary.... I normally Leave the Receipt in the box too if I do pop me clogs the Daughter has a keen eye on the stuff I have and what prices have been Realised!
  14. Here some Vid of the GT3 in Action. Taken a month ago or so but I managed to loose my camera on a mountain walk 2 weeks but but luckily it managed to find my way back to me thanks to social Media! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xwuT-Uvc7E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EZDTaupD_c
  15. I bid on some of the UK Stuff, nuts end bid price TBH. Could get them at a show for about a 10 each if you're lucky, especially the wagons. €350 for the Princess too, not a bad price given you dont really now the condition of these yokes if they have been ran or not. right back to planes TV coverage of Duxford flying days. Seems the Chap selling them was a bit of a recluse. Artist but never sold anything, His house sold for 2.5 million some time ago.
  16. Looks Fab, Gantrys especially!
  17. Is there is a price on these?
  18. "I had hoped to hear an announcement by now on spares for them" That's the worry I have with the Irish Locos, Not really much of a Back up, Same for the other smaller runs like rails, Hattons etc and I have a good few now. When the model goes tits up where are you gonna get the spare to keep it running! lots of Shed Queens I reckon.
  19. What duty? VAT ya mean and that will get taken off the price in the UK, get it to come in with Royal Mail and a good chance you will get a nice cheap 121 if it sneaks past the Vat man those Dodgy ones and a bit much really, 10'r less then a new one.
  20. On offer in Rails, today only.
  21. Eh? Probably right there Noel bout the cost too.
  22. "local farmers have burned off the heather and replaced it with grass" = Greedy Bastards. This Practice has to stop.
  23. I should follow my own advise sometimes!! there are seriously fab looking. I used Shawplan on some Mk.111 to replace Lima Glazing, Even with a few coats of paint the glazing would not go in the fit was so tight!
  24. Will you be doing them in Gull Grey then at some stage?
  25. Very nicely done Bud.
