  1. Thanks for putting up the link, I watched the 2nd part but was Mentally exhausted today after some bright spark decided to ship 20 tons of Cheese in 2 trucks from the UK to Rosslare without any paperwork. Amazing when the UK lorry driver could not bring a sandwich into Holland some weeks back so not sure how the chaps arranging this one were gonna get this one into Ireland I see it was recorded so will watch when suitably refreshed
  2. The Blue MN are very very tasty! Would suit Strong Country for sure!
  3. Corr they look very nice.
  4. Well it does want it is supposed to do! Weight and balance test.
  5. Well that went well except I glued a LED wire under the Deck and a cross beam but that sorted now and the little Light rewired and the LED working under the Bow which will look nice on Sailing a dusk which I have never done! I then soldered up some White metal and Brass rod for the voice pipes for the Bridge and started on the Binnacle using some 9mm dowl and coffer sticks sanded smooth! Needs to be Paint next. The Bow plate was also glued down with PVA and Left to Dry and then the edges were filled in with P39 Car Filler and then sanded smooth, Well the front part anyhow. I need to adjust one of the tall air intake pipes and one seemed to of moved and has set slightly off which is a balls but thems the breaks! .

  7. Cant beat the smell of the older Hornby Motors...mmmmmm. Now thats one for Lynx to do.
  8. Ooh Barls nearly me Neighbour! Hi! Loads of other lads in Cork not on either so just gives a small snapshot of whos where really.
  9. Hi Gents, Watched the first 30mins of this earlier, some fab shots, note the A class and the Cements trains with brakes on each end!
  10. There coming for you! Yeah can those be deleted as not point is having corrupts data in there.
  11. I stuck my name on this but it actually gives the exact location of my gaf which TBH is not ideal, I thought it would be like a general location of my Village area. Not sure if this is a good idea especially insurance wise if you are advertising where you live and stuff gets nicked? I used my Work computer now to change the location and its in the Cork area so that will do.

  13. Work in the dockyard continues with some massive step taken, all the wiring is complete internally for the lights in the hull , Superstructure, mice little Prewired LED were installed. Also work on installing a Bright LED into the Search light and this was completed and tested as well as a Reed switch operated by the transmitter, its not latching so I used the off option with the on happening at the flick of a lever on the tranny. At the rear of the light Silver foil at the back was glued on to give a Mirror appearance. And finally I plucked up the courage and decided to stick the deck on used copious amounts of wood glue so the next step will be to probably paint the hull and then to the Deck Armour plating. Flying along here!
  14. Just removed the Covers and the layout looks like this so I can't do any running at the mo sorry,
  15. Might do it or Perhaps johnsons clear but I doubt they have the strength to hold this kink down. I'll have to think of something though! uh oh misses found the box it came in with, flipping value is on the outside. If you don't hear from by tomorrow call the cops! Slipped up big time mates.
  16. Well got it out and it stikes you as a lovely model. Stuck it on the track and the sweet sound of Jet Turbines was jheard. Nice a smooth runner. Cab lights and all that Jazz, The Lower 2 Front lights should not come on for Forward Travel and should be red for reverse running, The Tender lights are red. after a while I noticed.....The Footplate, How the hell am I gonna fix that little bump I dont fancy trying to shovel a bead of Super glue under the etch there TBH. Once Slip and the finish will be goosed. Tis on both sides.
  17. I'll try there kid. all my point motors are being sent to the UK at the moment to get fixed, I'll see if I can get this across the points first!!
  18. Get in! Just in the door in time for Lunch time testing!! Tax man missed that one too! Had a Resin one on the back burner for ages, Managed to flog that off to part fund this one a bit. Love the sound of Jet noise!
  19. As the Red Arrows say during their display Smoke on Go! Step up 12 to 24V wizardry installed, Luckily I had a few spare as one or two have gone up in smoke. ran off a 12V battery it steps up the Voltage to run the smoke Generator which runs using water. Need a tad more pipe though to run this up the funnel.
  20. It was on the Beeb the other week, A nice program too.

    Enviro 400

Hattons do not seem to be the Flavour of the month, The new W1 causing much Consternation across the pond with Hornby Cancelling order. Hope Marks have Squared my one away....
  22. Holy Thread Resurrection! Came across this in the ol Lades Loft, A loco Shell of my First Ever Engine, A Dutch 1300 series class Leccy yoke (never a fan of Panto really too Fiddly), Not sure why the old fella picked one with Pantographs which are pretty delicate to a 5 year old over a Beefed up Hornby Grumbling motor Pannier tank Dunno where the chassis went to. Probably was changing the brushes and at that point just discovered girls and beer. Been Thinking of getting another one but the price I have seen is a bit daft. Do you think it pointless to get a new on or just keep the shell and the crappy 1980s weathering Looks a bit SAD Really.
  23. Love the wood Bufferbeam !
  24. Its Alive!!! Managed to bring down the port hole after lowering the deck, Happy with that. Leccy were being worked on today before I had to do some garden work and another change in the Receivers where they have an in built button to bind to the transmitter, No more little bind plugs! There is telemetry also on this receiver for 24 quid, Unreal price. I have run everything through a power board from Action electronics, at first the there was no power, Lots of head scratching before I noticed to on off switch on the speed controller, Ah great, Went to hit that and the switch fell apart, I bared the wires and have power that way for now until I get another better switch. I'll be making little tray to hold the Receiver, speed controller and Fan control unit Another step forward now to getting that deck on.
  25. What the Lads say, There has been plenty of Layouts in MR that don't in my eyes cut the mustard so to speak and they do have loads of repeats too. This Layout speaks in volumes with your pictures and is fantastic in its a simplistic layout and in the way you don't have tons and tons of stuff on it crowding out the message Signals, Points working, Magnetic Gubbins and you do your own sounds. Don't get nowhere without trying! A lad from Kerry used to pop into Marks regular, His modelling was funded by lobbing in articles of his latest builds, Barrow Roundhouse was one. Keep bashing up the photos though.
