  1. Lack of parts is a worry for the smaller manufactures I fear especially Rails Hattons, Kernow etc once the loco is worn out its will end up being a shed Queen. "had a few motors for 071's and there may be one left" - Are these motors available from other sources I wonder? any part number or it Dave.
  2. Some foreigners have a day out in the form of an 071 and Mk.3' and a the ol 121 with some Baccy green coaches.
  3. Flipping heck, Some Arsenal you guys are building up. Is there an onslaught coming to the UK Market soon!
  4. oh did not realise these were in OO, thought they were O Gauge. I'll hold off in the hope that Dapol to the proper SR ones at some stage,
  5. Tks Thump, Still mucking about with it. First Decoder have with that function in it. Also with 26 functions maybe its time to upgrade the DCC system now too. No idea what 16 is - Manual notching Logic, Should that be lock? Also the Dynamic brake, does that get used with F12?
  6. Goodness me, Just noticed there is rotating axles ends on this model! Unreal!
  7. Nice one Dave, Spent the last 40mins playing in the shed, The Notching is top class!
  8. Looking good Noel. I Picked up a sound chip today, Very nice Engine noise, however much fewer functions when compared to the 071 jobbie, Headlight and side lights not separately controllable like the 071. Not even a fade out function on it, not to mind a Guards whistle, Church Bells, Late Late Theme tune etc..ah well. Almost like a Hornby TTS Decoder at twice the price. ( I know switches in the bonnet Dave) The only Mapping I am able to do is with a OSI one and Compass. The Grey does look nice in the flesh, I am gonna dig out come Green coaches tomorrow and have play about.
  9. Hi Lads, while me 121 is busy running in I thought I might update this. Tipping along on this one and I noticed that the hull is not symmetrical, there is a about a 5mm difference and you can see this here with the ruler, after some thought I decided to re profile one side with a file to it would be square to the other. being a boat and you can only see one side the difference should not be too noticeable, not much I can do about it any how. I was just about to cut the access hatch for the main deck bit also notice on side of the fiberglass superstructure is splayed out about 4mm, I will have to think about how to fix this now next, Will it be surgery or a simple brace but I will have a combing in place so a brace may not be possible. Arse anyway,
  10. Crickey, Never heard that, Just what was he thinking! Must of been a rainy day! The L&B remind me of the VOR Engines. always fancied those too (yes I know GWR!) all that Brass!
  11. No doubt the triple pack will be back with different numbers in the future some time, Man I never owned so many flat wagons!
  12. 190 is a Manning Wardle, 762 is a Baldwin new 2017 build as the original one was scrapped , both lovely engines, Heljan make the Mannings and Baccy are doing a Baldwin, Peco have done the rolling stock so you can have your own piece of glorious Devon in your house!
  13. That ebay seller is a shop Noel and that how they sell stuff, Nothing stops them from buying off of Murphys and flogging them that way? "Along classic Lines is an online Model Railway retailer, Our E bay shop sells Model Railways old and new in a range of gauges and outlines. From the menu on the left select the gauge you are interested in and explore our range, we are friendly and approachable and are happy to answer your questions. Please add us to your list of favorite sellers and come again. Thank you for looking. Martin" 157 snots, Tennor dearer than the box shifters but 29 post is an ouch!
  14. He not a chap called Grant by any chance?
  15. Could do with a Tan", Preferably not a spray one though!
  16. Humbrol matt is like that now, Its shit. throw it away and get some alclad Matt coat. you could paint a light dusting of thinnned gloss over the grey areas it may get ride of it and re do with Alclad. Poxy Paint manufacturers are doing me head in.
  17. Rumbling along on this one, most of the work being done outside as the model is so big. Deck supports mostly in, Motor and shaft Secured, Battery and weight tray has been made, I will be able to slide batteries along this using the guides on each side. Deck and superstructure just plonked on for a test fit. Note the 071 for Size comparison
  18. cannie see any piccy there Eamon, just sound!
  19. That's good news. I don't understand how is it current customs requirement when rails sent a box today with 2 x 121's to me with no value on the outside. My Radio control bits from Cornwall last week Similar and over 150 notes. invoice inside the box. There is no customs requirements currently for UK - Ireland value on the boxes. Mine came though RM and An Post and same mode for Rails and Model dockyard. I understand for DJ that he needs it for where he is and it is handy for him and stuff maybe scanned optically for clearance. Hopefully this can change as I did have stuff left outside my door before for all to see. Anyway we will wait and see. I might be customs clearing my own stuff next year! Gonna be a pain in the hole. LOL!.
  20. Mine RPSI one Arrived today . Thanks Lads Looks much better in the Flesh, In fact Superb but by god it is delicate, You can see the hours spent in getting the detailed nailed by Mr Murphy. I still don't get the attraction of the Grey livery TBH buts that just me! I Did not run it yet as I need a Decoder so probably will save running one till the IE version comes into the hand and a sound chip whacked into that. The Hand rails are certainly a bit bendy on my one and need to be straightened somehow and 2 supports detached in 2 min of light handling along with the Vacuum pipe which pinged off but was luckily found after a quick search. I am not a fan of the Packaging it comes in and I can see some bits getting snapped off it you don't do it right in a lapse of concentration, It looks Easy in the Video for Sure, The Front horns are a good candidate for the first bit to go so be warned. Just beware sticking it back in! (whoarrrrr Says Finbarr Saunders (Viz ref)) One more thing and not to do with Paddy but I am not overjoyed with the invoice being splashed on the box and the value for all to see, Packing list, fine like most shipping companies but where is the sense in this being on the outside of the box? If there an option not to have this in the inside or not on future shipments from IRM Towers? Enjoy the 121s folks. Cheers George
  21. I do confess the grey and yellow looks a whole lot better in this Video then the pictures I have seen recently. Looking forward to getting one!
  22. This is what I meant! down the road in the lovely Royal Tunbridge Wells, once a haven of Model shops. I think around 5 back in the 80s. Mostly gone now
  23. Sweet, I must say the kings look good in Blue, and I do confess to getting a GWR king in Easons in the 80's for a Birthday, Tender drive, Still goes too, even chipped it and badly weathered! Surprised you did not have a date with Sir Keith Park Leslie this weekend.
