  1. Think they tried the same with me but they used the wrong strands. As a result, I like warm places, I can sleep comfortably anywhere, and I sleep all day. But, on the plus side, my personal grooming is top notch.
  2. Lovely review of the Accuascale Class 66 here from our very own Euvirail:
  3. Those guys are super-human, like the @Darius43's of the car world. Obviously genetically enhanced, some sort of feline DNA infused when they were in the womb.
  4. "Boy racer" is a term used by old people and ignorant people to describe anything that they either don't understand or are not interested in when it comes to cars, and as such is nothing more than misplaced jargon. There are car enthusiasts and there are scumbags. The people described in the two articles are not car enthusiasts, they're just scum. This line: “They can crush a car, but we can always go buy another one, it's not hard," he said. No car enthusiast would ever ever ever say that. I guarantee that giving the police the power to crush cars would scare the bejaysus out of any genuine car enthusiast. However, it would have to be reasonable. A blown light bulb or whatever wouldn't be grounds for crushing, but these guys literally racing on public roads, that warrants a good crushing. We had that retarded muttonhead Gay Byrne ranting and rambling about "boy racers" years ago. Just pure ignorance. Old fart hadn't a clue what he was on about.
  5. Definitely blasphemous to prefer watching young men in shorts before rally cars, but each to their own, I won't judge you! Doing wheelies?!! Back on the meds, you! One of the Toyoteros over in Las Palmas sent me this photo the other day. That's me in the centre. That's me in the sunlight. Loving my religion.
  6. @BosKonay recently posted that IRM may have their own ranges of containers coming - nothing definite, but he definitely hinted at it!
  7. Auction for a job lot of NINE C-Rail containers about to end, currently going for £46 GBP: https://www.ebay.es/itm/285912776468 If I had to speculate, I'd say that the seller may be the forum's very own @richrua: https://www.ebay.es/usr/rrua6196
  8. These look amazing!!! They'd be right at home on Tara Junction. Hint hint @ttc0169!
  9. Love the sign, @ttc0169! Looks smashing! 47404 really looks to have settled in well, and talk about BR Blue Heaven in that second last shot.
  10. Welcome to the forum, Even. Great way to introduce yourself. Try not to get too angry or you might blow a gasket like @Noel and his rants. Just kidding, rant away - the more, the merrier!
  11. You lucky lucky so and so! Haven't been to see a rally since pre-pandemic. Any photos and videos? Since we're already in the off-topic section, they'd be allowed! Are you off the meds or something? What sort of angry incoherent rambling rant was that?
  12. Just out of curiosity, how easy are roof swaps on the NIR variants?
  13. Looks excellent, @ttc0169! Was the real life 2751 given much work to do back in her day? Also, can't help but notice how heavy the bus traffic is on the ramp leading up to the bridge... If you need to divert some of that bus traffic elsewhere, I know a man!
  14. Welcome to the forum, @gibbo675! Top notch opening post!
  15. I've been beaten to it, so maybe a Class 37 for me instead:
  16. A short video on the Class 13, for the uninitiated like myself:
  17. I know your type! Will email @Garfield on Monday and ask him to order some of these for me!
  18. https://m.independent.ie/regionals/dublin/dublin-news/morning-travel-disruption-in-dublin-dart-and-trains-not-expected-to-re-open-during-commute-peak/a1834312163.html From the Irish Independent: Emergency services are attending a “tragic incident” on a Dublin rail line. As a result, all DART and commuter services have been suspended between Raheny and Dublin Connolly this morning. Irish Rail informed commuters that Dublin Bus is accepting rail tickets, with “disruption expected to continue” throughout the morning peak. A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of an incident at Killester railway station, County Dublin, this morning Wednesday, 19th June 2024. “Train services are disrupted in the area; further details can be sought from Iarnród Éireann. "No further information is available at this time.”
  19. An Post = Absolute Numpties Pooping On Simple Tasks. Grrrrrrrr...
  20. Are they legal, though??? Another IRM customer service anecdote. Sadly, my three NIR coach packs were posted with no CN23 attached, and Customs up in Madrid enthusiastically returned them to IRM's fulfillment centre. An Post, the worst postal service in the world, sending stuff to Las Canarias with no CN23's, showing what they are made of. In the fulfillment centre, something went wrong on my parcel arriving back there, and they sold one of my coach packs to somebody else. @Garfield was prompt at apologizing, explaining what happened, sorting a refund etc, so we were back on top of things. Excellent customer care. The parcel was re-sent, minus the missing coach pack, and I recieved a letter from Customs yesterday, looking for proof of payment etc. I spoke with @Garfield this morning, and before I knew it, he had come back to me with a list of the contents, and a copy of the CN23! This was crucial as the original bill and proof of payment no longer match the contents of the parcel. As a result, I've already sent everything through to Customs, and await their bill with taxes due. Incredibly fast customer service from IRM on this, like, quicker than you could have imagined! Thanks again, IRM! P.S.: A duplicate thread here for @BosKonay to merge: https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/15920-hats-off-to-irm Say no to Spam!
  21. Absolutely fabulous stuff, @Andreas Weniger! Do these run on 45mm track, a la the Bowaters Irish range?
  22. That DB red one looks nice. The DRS livery locos seem to shift more slowly in general.
  23. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0kkyvq081wo From the BBC: Eight people have died and around 25 have been injured in a train crash in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal. The accident occurred when a goods train hit a stationary passenger train, the Kanchenjungha Express, in the New Jalpaiguri area on Monday morning. Dramatic footage from the accident site showed one wagon of the express train suspended in the air. It's not clear yet what led to the crash but authorities say a detailed investigation will be held. Authorities say ambulances and disaster teams have been sent to the site for rescue efforts. "We are trying to complete the rescue operation as soon as possible," Railway official Sabyasachi De told reporters. "The preliminary information we have is that the Kanchenjungha Express was hit from the rear by a goods train," he said, adding that the reason would only be confirmed after investigation. A passenger rescued from the Kanchenjungha Express said he had suffered a head injury in the crash. "I was travelling in B1 coach when the train was hit," he told ANI news agency. Federal Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that relief teams were working in close coordination with railway officials to carry out rescue operations. "The injured are being shifted to the hospital. Senior officials have reached the site," he posted on X, formerly Twitter. The railways have set up a control desk with a helpline number at Rangapani station, near which the collision took place. Last year, a devastating crash involving three trains in the eastern state of Odisha had killed around 290 people and left more than 1,000 injured.
