  1. Faller AMS. https://www.hobbydb.com/marketplaces/hobbydb/subjects/faller-ams-series https://www.marklin-users.net/cookee_nz/ams/ams-intro.htm I had never heard of that before, thanks!
  2. Anybody here on the forum into slot car / Scalextric type layouts? I guess there’s not a huge crossover between 1/43 (O Gauge) railways and 1/32 (Gauge 1) slot cars, but it’s always struck me as a veritable option for moving vehicles on a layout… …Unless you have some of Bowaters 1/32 Irish stock sitting around, then it’s perfect! Then there’s the slot car racing side of things itself, the cars, the racing, the layouts, the dioramas. Some builders put incredible effort into the detail of the layout, whereas others focus on the accuracy of the cars, while some just want to go fast. And some builds are not cheap: https://www.slotmods.com/gallery Any thoughts or comments appreciated, whether exclusively slot car racing, or integrating them with railways, or adapting railway-related vehicles to move via slot based systems.

  4. Try: supportteam@accurascale.com support@accurascale.com support@irishrailwaymodels.com I find that Andrew, Patrick and Stuart are usually quite prompt at replying, Keep an eye on your own SPAM / junk / unwanted folder in case their reply ends up in there.
  5. You mean a 1980’s DART, of course! The 22000’s look and sound amaaaaaaaaazing, gotta be model of the decade contender!
  6. Sorry to read this, @Noel. Glad that you, the family and furries are OK.
  7. Park Royals and Mk2’s. I guess Mk3’s are also a possibility but hopefully not just yet.
  8. Just received a Facebook screenshot on the KC models. Afraid I don’t have the url, just this:
  9. What a lovely little wagon! https://railsofsheffield.com/products/dapol-4f-hattons-26-hattons-model-railways-blue-vent-van Nice little tribute to Hatton’s. We could all make room for one of these… Now, where’s the O Gauge version?

  10. I’d say holding back on Irish liveries is a wise choice for a few reasons. First run of the tweaked tooling so it’ll allow for customer feedback on potential improvements. There’s a lot of Irish stock available at the moment, and due this year, including two locos and a railcar, plus two coach ranges, so a lot of hammers already being applied to piggy banks. I recently read comments here on the forum, possibly from @Patrick Davey and @jhb171achill, saying that they don’t like the size of the Genesis coaches and are retiring them. Apologies to you two if it was somebody else. Maybe next year or the following year, when there’s a vacuum in the Irish coach market.
  11. Can’t remember my Facebook password! D’oh!
  12. More Genesis coaches (UK outline) on the way from Accurascale:
  13. Great to see more Genesis coaches in the pipeline!
  14. Brilliant stuff, as ever!
  15. As did @Ironroad, I asked a few years ago and they told me that they don’t charge VAT on pre-owned, so there’s none to remove. Looking at their pre-owned pricing, in general, items are quite frequently listed for higher prices than the same item new, even when still in stock, so there must be quite a margin on a lot of it. Hatton’s pre-owned section was great value but Rails have a different philosophy. I’ve been watching a few O Gauge locos sit there for a long time. Hatton’s wanted the stuff gone and priced accordingly, but Rails are quite happy to hold onto it for several years.
  16. Of trains or of chocolate consumption? That Scania 770 will be working overtime!
  17. They don’t deduct VAT from pre-owned items, sadly.
  18. Where’s that young @Rob fellow skulked off to lately?

  21. Poor old B135 has been languishing at £160 GBP at Rails of Sheffield for a while: https://railsofsheffield.com/products/murphy-models-mm0135-po-pre-owned-irish-class-121-b135-in-cie-original-grey-livery-diesel-locomotive Now joined by a DCC-fitted Murphy Models 121 Class no. 22. Finished at only €20, not bad at all!
  23. Whose order is that? Jaysus, it’s tiny! These are gonna be epic. The Park Royals really do cater to a wide audience.
