everything was in accordance with EC rules
And therein lies the problem. The Canary Islands are not part of the EU for customs nor tax.
They're an autonomous region of Spain with their own rules on taxation and customs.
Any online purchases that come from outside the islands, be it Ireland, Spain, Germany, the UK or wherever, have to be "imported" and a valid customs declaration is required.
An Post seem to have a massive massive problem understanding this, and it's exhausting dealing with them, never mind the frustration of having parcels re-sent over and over until An Post get it right.
The jobsworths up in Madrid don't help. Forget to cross a "t" or dot an "i" on your CN23 and they'll reject your parcel up there, it won't get within 1,792km of the islands.
It does teach you patience, though...
I'll receive my NIR coach packs when everybody else is receiving their IR packs!
Still, at least there's something to look at while being patient.

Hi folks,
That's correct, unfortunately due to other commitments we cannot make Bangor this year I'm afraid!
We will still have a small announcement tomorrow ahead of the show, so watch this space!
Cheers!

The item is small, the price is small or the run quantity is small?
Like a bus would be small, or a Dutch Van would be small...

DJD Senior has just landed with a care package!
Thanks to @skinner75 for the two locos, the IRM lads for finding some Dickie Tara's for him, and probably @WRENNEIRE for the three Mk2D's and the hand-painted Mk3 buffet, which I'm guessing DJD Senior bought from him at one of the shows.
He's been hoarding stuff for me the last few years, and has more to bring down in October.

Hi Kevin,
RV496 worked regular routes out of Donnybrook Garage, again mostly 14A in this livery as it was on the boards to do an early morning stint on this route before taking up coastal tour duty for the day. If you look in places like Flickr you will see that both buses worked a variety of Donnybrook services including Xpresso routes.
Cheers!
Fran
Thanks, @Warbonnet! Will report back with FlickR news later.

Colin's post querying this has not been answered as of yet, but the UK lads Querying the UK outline ones have?
Mark 2b, By Accurascale and IRM! - Page 42 - Accurascale / Irish Railway Models - RMweb
No news on the Bogies issue either? all gone quiet, CNY ended on the 26th of Feb.
Think that the IRM lads are for more present on RMW than here the past year or two, bigger market so probably demands a lot more attention.
I missed Colin's post, will go have a look for it, now.
EDIT: Found Colin's post, for anybody interested:

With three of the current four IRM buses about to sell out, it feels like it MUST be time for another bus announcement!
So, who's taking bets on the liveries?
Where's that @warb fellow with his shots of obscure liveries?

The count shows at 50 units. (we’ve 53 of that one in stock)
Brilliant, thank you!
And, did RV496 only run Coastal Tours, or did it also run regular routes?
So, if one were to buy an extra RV496, could they slap their own destination scroll on the front?
And:

If so, which ones, from when until when?

I see that one of the two Coastal Tours buses, the 14A, is down to the last seven units in stock!
The RV496 must have quite a few units available, as there's no stock counter displaying.
Maybe @BosKonay can confirm, but the "Remaining Units" start displaying once there are less than 75 unit savailable?

Bus Eireann Metroriders almost out of stock!
Only one Galway Shuttle left and only two Cork Shuttles left, as of right now.

My Dad worked for Michelin and did a training “stage” at their French HQ in Claremont Ferrand in the late 1970s. We visited him during that time and I saw the Michelin Test track where this car operated / although not the car itself.
Very Gerry Anderson.
Cheers

Available in both O Gauge (1:43) from Altaya, as well as 1:18, what a beast.

Just had a quick flick through this thread. Kept meaning to do so and kept forgetting.
The concept, the idea, is just fabulous, and the shed itself looks brilliant. It genuinely looks like an abandoned wagon sitting in your garden!
My only fears would be about protecting the models inside from the elements. It's been a long time since I've experienced it first-hand, but I still remember what Ireland is like for damp.
It seems to creep in everywhere and anywhere, the damp and the cold both compounding each other, taking advantage of the tiniest slivers to penetrate anywhere!
Some of the posts in the thread are a bit too technical for me, go whooshing way over my head, but the bottom line is, I hope that your models will be OK!
I guess it would be kind of funny if they weren't, and you decided to move them back into the house - then you could put your hand on your heart and tell visitors that it genuinely IS abandoned, without having to lie!
Being serious, though, how is it likely to turn out from a weather-proofing aspect, long term?

That’s one thing we don’t lack. Values are everywhere - everyone has them. But it’s an economic term: values have no hard or fast standing and can change. And we all value things differently….
What we increasingly lack are virtues, I think.
I think that you've just hit the nail on the head, albeit slightly evasively.
Values don't need to be monetary or economic, but it may very well be that as people get richer, and quicker, they find it more and more difficult to value anything from a non-monetary perspective.
And the inability to value things goes hand in hand with diminishing virtues.
Then we spiral downward, vanishing virtues and values, into vices and vitriol.

Boom, love this! Absolutely perfect, for almost every challenge we come across, whether generational or interpersonal.

There's generations' worth of lack of values.
Several generations, actually.
Ten years ago, I went from thinking that the generation twenty years younger than me were "the" problem, to thinking that every generation has it's miscreants.
They may present themselves differently due to the era that they grew up in, but at their core, they're the same.
So no, I don't think that progress is to blame for these miscreants.

Mainly because, in recent years, it seems to bring out the worst in people.
ICR's bring out the worst in people?
Or a lack of values being taught when kids are at a formative age?

Why is there so often a negative response to progress?
X, Y or Z is new or different, so it's bad.
Railcars, mobile phones, IKEA, AI, social networks, whatever.
Not saying that progress is always great - my bugbear is touch-screens vs. physical keyboards and predictive text vs. knowing how to spell. I much prefer a mobile with a physical keyboard and I don't like predictive text.
So, I'm not without my own bias, it's just that this forum has such a negative angle on things so often.
Also not a big fan of social media as it seems to be removing the ability to think critically from people...
I saw it on Tik Tok so it must be true.
Just, lighten up, guys, progress isn't always bad.
ICR's are awesome, mobile 'phones are awesome, cars are awesome, AI is awesome, and IKEA is frikkin' awesome!

No, there will be no facility to take payment, or place orders at shows I'm afraid.
Does that mean that we can get stuff for free at the shows???

I think that you need to put specific prices for each item to avoid the post being removed.

That's where the Canary Islands get even more interesting.
For banking and finance, the Canaries follow Spanish law, so comply with the EU.
Taxation here is legendary, and one of the reasons the mind boggles every time a British family without a word of Spanish between them decides to uproot, sell up, quit the jobs in Tesco, and open a bar here...
You have four different bodies collecting tax; the local county councils (31 counties in Tenerife alone), the government (cabildo) of each island, the Canarian government and the Spanish government.
Imagine trying to comply with the requirements of all four! It's not easy, believe me.
You also have insitutionalized racism. Many (not all) Spanish view the Canarios as a lesser people, beneath them, who should be treated as such. The Canarian accents are mercilessly mocked online, the Madrileños being particularly fierce in this area.
There are many stories of Canarian business people flying first class without checked-luggage, as there is such a high probability of their luggage going missing or being damaged when they land in Madrid.
Anyhow, I digress, it all adds up to a very colourful life!
