  1. Excellent Eoin! Great for small spaces
  2. Looking forward to seeing it too. The trailer looks good.
  3. It's really taking shape, great work on the scenery Eoin.
  4. Hi Rory, Sounds like arcing between the rails, the power is jumping from one track to the other and generating heat as a result. I never rely on the joints in the track to distribute power, I solder droppers to every piece of track. As dirt builds up between the rail and the joiner the electrical connectivity breaks down and arcing is produced. Have you got power connected in just one place or spread equally around the layout?
  5. One less trader as I didn't get an invite
  6. Trams ran into the 50's. I have a photo from one of the papers at the time with my Dad stepping on to the last one that ran, he was with my eldest sister at the time she was 3. I have the pics somewhere
  7. That's superb Bren, very nice
  8. Found the pics a few pages back! Doh!
  9. Looks great Eoin, any pics of the static grass generator?
  10. Lovely work Jason, very crisp.
  11. I agree it's very expensive, I really like the Z21 and linked to the Roco multimaus as a throttle is a great combination that quite a few of my customers use. The Z21 app makes programming simple and the multimaus is easy to use. But as you say it's an antiquated technology and really needs to be brought into the 21st century.
  12. If your looking for the best of both worlds this is an excellent addition to the Ecos or available as a stand alone under the Piko brand http://www.esu.eu/en/products/digital-control/mobile-control-ii/ That Digikeijs controller is only a throttle, the full DCC controller is as good as the Ecos and Roco Z21, it has wifi built in and only costs €150! Great value for money. It will work with any handheld throttle as well.

    DCC Decoders

They are just 4 function decoders. They will work in an 071 but the cab lights won't work. The stay alive capacitor is an optional extra, there are 2 wires coming from the decoder where the capacitor is fitted. I don't think they have been tested with automatic brake control, but I'll ask the manufacturer. Yes they are the ones in the link. Here is the manual LaisDcc_Decoders_Manual_V2.pdf

Absolutely superb Bren. It's truly stunning. What scale is it?
  17. They look cracking, well done!
  18. No, only second hand now. Mr Bracken has some pristine ones.
  19. I wish I could. This layout took over the workshop for the last 5 months as it was fully assembled which meant the workshop was out of action.

    Just stunning Bren.
  21. The ship was a kit from Deans Marine, it's 1:76 scale MV Fairwind. But it's a crap kit badly marked out and was a nightmare to put together. I won't be doing another!
