What coaches do you want to use? Model shop in Portlaoise will do a good job on them for you.

Could always build a layout in it for a bit of novelty. Although I think that's been done before.

1. How did you get interested in Railway Modelling? Growing up watching Thomas the Tank Engine in the mid 80s, Santa brought a push along Thomas set and then a couple of years later a Hornby Intercity 125 train set. Parents brought me to watch trains going through my home town (Clondalkin) and places like Heuston and Connolly. 2.What do you enjoy most about your hobby? Letting my imagination run wild with ideas for a layout that will be built someday, research and the possibility of creating a slice of the past. Learning new skills too. 3. Do you go to events and if so how often and where? One, maybe two a year. When I lived in the UK I went to more as there was more on and the subject matter was quite diverse. You tend to see the same stuff here over and over again as the pool of interested people is smaller. Exhibitions arent really my thing though, I much rather running sessions with some like minded people. 4.How much do you spend per annum on railway modelling? I've cut down to about 70-100 per month on average. I reckon a few years ago though I was spending around 300 a month when I had a job where I could afford to spend so much! In fairness I have too much stuff so I can see that spending falling even further this year. Most will be on coaches, wagons and kits as well as trackfrom now on!

I would kill for a DeLorean and a flux capacitor to go back and see such sights! In the end the 8Fs and 9Fs could haul trains almost as long and more efficiently. The Garratts had their reliability problems but I'd still love to see one working hard. I dont think the cement train behind 10001 is prototypical though. Great haulage capacity in those locos though, weigh a ton, more than any other diesel I've come across!

Hornby have re-released the Lima 33 too in the last couple of years, better motor and DCC ready so could save you a couple of jobs.

Kader industires own Bachmann as well as some other brands. The 141 was commissioned by PM for Bachmann to produce. The 071 was subsequently commissioned by PM for Kader to make directly. All Bachmann stock is made by Kader it's just PM developed closer relations with the parent company by the time the 071 was being made.

The 071s were also made by Kader so the same people who made the 141.

Brought down my replacement Hattons Garratt for a run around the other day. Enjoy!

Cheers Noel, actually meant to stick that link up for the video on the site and forgot! The Garratt rake would be prototypical in length, they tended to run very long trains. We were just having a bit of fun and testing haulage ability on the two locos though, see what they can do on big gradients. Both performed very well although the Garratt is a bit tempermental at times.
