Sneak peek! It may have had an error while printing. But rivet counters will be well chuffed with this finish photo: Owen O Niell
-
I would say it’s probobly best to just eyeball it? It looks small so it shouldn’t make too much of a difference

One of the classic west cork shots. I don’t think many books have omitted this image! Yes, although the GNR 207 deffinetly had many surviving bits and peices. I found it strange how much of the GSWR tank engine survived. Perhaps it was cut up in that siding in mallow and the GSRPS found bits of it….perhaps it was easier to nick stuff in mallow then it was in the scrap yard. But about 5 or 6 significant bits survive

Even more work done tonight, infact other then chassis work it’s more or less complete. Owen and Mark will be at Wexford to show off this model. The rivets have quite litterally been counted here it seems! I have made requests for a few alterations but otherwise. It’s a rather good looking CAD isint it

Some tasty looking photos from the CAD programme. A few things must be changed most particularly the cab for one. Owen has done a great job using an 0 gauge kit built bandon tank as his only reference but considering how many bandon tanks I have seen come and pass on my time. I think finnally this one will go to market soon enough

Yes it would have been absolutely irecodnisable. But that’s better then “as it came” the only thing that would send JB to smelling salts incorporated is the roof….I think they were silver as standard! I’m in the look out for one of these vans all the time. If they were available as kit I might try those ones.

Stunning well done

Many a familiar face so far. Sub 2 hour fully electrified enterprise was hinted at….now THAT would be interesting next week is Dromod, Stradbally and presumably listowel I must say these nationwide programmes are decent quality.

I’ll watch on RTE+1
-
The dart, Cavan and Leitrim, and lartigue are confirmed in the next few programmes.
-
Something of note is that it seems the poor presenter had to travel all the way to Belfast in a 29k

The macroom closed in 1953 as did the schull and skibbereen (on paper anyway) 1953 was the year CIE got there AEC railcars too? I think there was a few other closures in 1953. The T&D Possibly too

Didn’t steam end around this time 60 years ago. I don’t think there is an exact date but sometime febuary 1963 officially?? 1893 saw the last extension to the cork bandon and south coast railway (discounting the cork city railway) to Baltimore in May 1893. Some 130 years ago!

@murphaph perhaps?

I only got mine recently. Stuck in post for 3 months!

I would think so yes

Yes, a baby GM engine. I’m told it will be repainted in the livery it’s still in (supertrain)

Right then IRM. When are we getting the C class model Pleasure to have been introduced to @Noel today by @jhb171achill aboard the suir lee knot railtour

It was standerd gauge initially before being converted to being double narrow. Not the whole railway was double track though. the Cork & Bandon railway was built to accommodate possible doubling. This is clearest in the earlier underbridges, tunnels and viaduct abutments.
