  1. Or the hattons 3 wheeler if that feeling in my gut comes true!
  2. I'm 17 and I'd gladly buy 70 year old park royals, us youngsters love new stuff but we like the old stuff too! Although to be fair i see the point...201 in IE livery could have done with mark 4s and the proper DVT. I think the ICR amd DMUs can be purchased off chris dier so at least that is an option. But you can't just walk into marks models to get one
  3. Looks great, grey 121 owners will be pleased with Any RTR "flying snail" stock
  4. They were quite numerous werent they, you would see the dirty silver ones. I think silver fox make some version but a fully detailed propperly tooled one would be a must for the era Seeing that hattons have released a 2nd wave of their genisis coaches, I would hope on a 3rd wave or 4th in 2021 or early 2022 may yield an irish livery...well maybe..
  5. I would think that in terms of rolling stock, keep supplying stuff for late CIE, IR and IE (stuff that suits whats already on the market) for new locomotives I'm on through side of Early CIE stuff like AEC railcars, C class, number 800 maebh and then after that starting to make new tooling for models already abailble (071 and 141 are starting to get higher in demand...and price!)
  6. I think if your going to get those early cie coaches in, AEC railcars may As well be released alongside them (GNRI versions included) along with green and black n tan
  7. CBPR tanks also a shout, the isle of man modelers would be pleased to see the CDR railcars...
  8. I think we are well overdue for number 800 maebh to be made in a pre-assemled form. There has been kits before but the only off the shelf irish steam locos have been the mogul and the flying snail pocket rocket. And even those were re-skins....what I'm saying is that when it happens it will be a landmark in irish modeling like the lima 201s and MM 141s Granted we are few years away from that but its when rather then if I would think.
  9. Just noticed that cie models dont load sometimes on silverfox website, could they be suspending irish orders as brexit gets sorted out
  10. Just saw these on another Facebook page. Its 3d prints put if offers 0 guage option and the old GSWR option of the J30 class if anyone needs one
  11. It would be nice to see sligo or that old container siding on the cork commuter network before glaunthaine
  12. They have done, good job too as a lot of these british indusrial locos you can pass off as irish industrial locos with a bit of tweaking here and there...or alot if you have 21mm layouts
  13. A ruston will always be noisy! And yea id say there will be an issue converting the 88ds to 21 mm. We have only 2 views of it at the moment so i hope its an early 2021 release
  14. I think anyway they stopped using them in mallow around 1987
  15. 1 in Clonakilty model railway village, 1 was in halfway vintage club but is now somewhere else, 1 at the RPSI whitehead and 1 at Belturbet railway museum. That where they are as far as i know
  16. I happen to have that book, very interesting livery. I think all the rustons in all the factories had slighly different liveries seen here with the 2 mallow locos
  17. Bit of fixing up and the ruston above could be looking like carlow number 1. considering that hornby have done the 48ds and the senital they may come out with a 165 varient The 48ds comes with a flatbed wagon with pick ups if its a real issue, either way i think hornby can sort it for a new model in 2021
  18. I'm no expert, but i suppose these Rustons from hornby would be close enough to the irish sugar company ones seen at mallow, Thurles, and Carlow ect.
  19. yea, they seriously need to re-release the Dublin Heuston train set, large demand for those since they sold out......
  20. dont forget G class, C class, 141, 181, 171, AEC railcars, another 121 variant and that's just the diesals. And this all has to be made by....lets call it next March! In all seriousness though, if a IRM stranderd pre-assembled Maebh how much would we pay to see that...
  21. https://www.ebay.ie/itm/CIE-Flying-Snail-1945-63-era-cap-badge/402605542652?hash=item5dbd290cfc:g:OXwAAOSw6DBfusMy In case someone wants a conductor hat for there model railway!
  22. I can relate! I ordered a green AEC railcar set and I asked for a black roof as a pose to light grey. They also removed the lining in the green livery of a C class i ordered as that particular loco (C212) had no line or flying snail on its green livery. fair play to them for doing it I really apericiate sorting out my nitpicks!
  23. good to hear the silver fox model is getting fixed. Ive had great service with them so obviously if they are withdrawing it for issues with the mould then it will be back soon enough, while i myself arent interested in it, the Recent interest in 1960s stock might have meant the sulzers might have had more demand then usual.
  24. I was on silverfox models website and noticed that they have removed the B101 Sulzer from there options of Irish locomotives. I'm sure if you asked for it they might still make it but its sad to see an Irish model seemingly discontinued. I assume the demand was not enough?
  25. a 3d print of J30s (Number 90 or 100) is currently being developed. there progressing well and along with some paint and a terrier chassis you could have a perfectly resonable shunting loco
