  1. I got them Sean in that model shop on Capel Street in Dublin. I cant remember the name or make of it,but it gave you the option of different sizes. Most people will tell you that its better to mask off with tape to get a better white stripe, but I went the lazy way:)
  2. The workbench is getting busy now with more stuff in the post this week. I put some pinpoint brass bearings on the ballast wagon and stuck on the hand wheel at the sides. I got this nice single track LC kit from Irish Freight models.
  3. Sorry Sean<I only saw your question now.No airbrush used, all hand painted with MIR 201 orange and the white stripe is from a peel off sheet.
  4. Noel told me that a H and S team had checked the depot last year and all is well - Barry is doing a great job. The two gray 071s look nice side by side.
  5. Brilliant Idea Richie,no end to your talents.
  6. She looks stunning alright George, great work.
  7. Great information lads on the alternatives for a good running A class.
  8. Some cracking shots there.
  9. They are a nice and handy to make, although some brass parts are small and hard to handle, but nothing a few curses won't sort.
  10. It's up to yourself Sean,a rtr would be handy as the Silver Fox MK 3 EGV is top notch from what I have seen. The kit would be more of a long term project when you consider the time taken with cutting, painting etc. If the SF EGVs were around when I was looking at them I know the rtr would have been my option.
  11. Brass sides, roof detail parts. Most people use a MK3 sleeper coach as a doner.I used a spare Hornby MK3 Res coach. To be honest its a difficult build as a lot of cutting is required, but taking your time and its possible.
  12. Some work on the oil tankers-
  13. Sean if you check page one of my work bench you will see some photos a bit down on the page of my SSM brass overlay that I did.
  14. Wow is all I can say George, and lovely detail.
  15. The A class is a super job.
  16. Nice work Des,more power to your elbow.
  17. It's nice alright and I wish It was mine. I bet the real A39 does not have this problem with traction.
  18. I got some goodies from Des in the post today,so these should keep me out of Divilment for a while. Fair play to des for such great kits. I have 5 oil tankers and got the brass detail kit for them. The Wickham Inspection car is the one I am looking forward to most.
  19. A bit of video of A39 with new traction tires. [video=youtube;bwSUbrgIj-k]
  20. I would love to see her again, and I am trying to see If I can get up to DownPatrick at Easter.
  21. Sorry I cant seem to show a39 on video as photobucket wont load it from my i pod. Will try it via youtube tomorrow.
  22. I put the new traction tires over the Hornby ones and tested them on the incline of the deeps layout with 12 ballast and two plough Vans and found she got up ok but did slow a bit. However the incline on the deeps is not as steep as on yours Kirley.I will try and post video later.
  23. Wow,stunning is all I can say.D&M have done a great job. Viaduct looking well there Stephen as well, and could well be a shot of Craigmore Viaduct.
