  1. The LC gates look great,as do the building.
  2. It's well worth having a look yourself. The 071 body is held on by 4 screws.Turn the loco upsidedown and locate the holes around the bogie area. The screws are recessed far in.When you get the screws out the centre part of the body lifts of.As you said some heat came from the top of the body, check the 21pin blanking plate and have a good look around with a bright light.Check with the loco on the track and see if there is a problem somewhere. If the blanking plate is the problem, you should be able to get one somewhere.
  3. Excellent.I think I will be going for the CIE ballast packs.
  4. The Beet season is in full swing on Bog Road with 084 and some emptys heading to Youghal. 20201018_120603.mp4
  5. Congratulations to IRM.I started out on the old MSN site back in 2007 and have seen the growth in Irish model railways with the launch of the MM 141/181 locos. Its been amazing to see the success of IRM and long may it continue.
  6. Some action from Bog Road. 20201011_190857.mp4
  7. I have to agree that it's worth waiting to have things right and very understandable the problems that come with this.I have two A class ordered I will be ordering more at Christmas.
  8. Hi Noel, that's the new Murphy 645 later sound chip.
  9. I dont know what happened there, will try to sort it.
  10. While I did not buy any Grey 121s(yet)A friend arrived at my house from north Wexford with 121 and a sound chip installed. So we wasted no time and Bog Road Level Crossing got its first 121 running.A very impressive machine and the sound is superb. The layout is undergoing scenery work at the moment. 20200915_203656.mp4
  11. Many many thanks to Paddy Murphy.Going back to the early 90s, not in your wildest dreams could we imagine how much the Irish scene could be transformed particularly with the 141/181s.Now with 121s and 001 class on the horizon, happy days.
  12. Was that photo in Waterford Library archives ?.
  13. Got mine today and very impressed. Love the detail as always.
  14. Just ordered mine. Thanks to IRM for super models.
  15. Very impressive.
  16. I could have used 1st radius but use whatever makes life easier for you.For the space I had to work with I wanted a nice gradual curve. As my layout was constructed to fit in my car,it was difficult enough to get everything to fit.
  17. Thanks Sean, from memory I used a mixture of 3rd radius set track and Peco flex track. It was a problem as I have two bridges on either side of layout and it took some trial and error as eventuality I got a mk3 coach to fit with little to spare.
  18. I am nearly sure I have a bass enhanced speaker in one of my newer MM 201s.The original speaker is round and sits in a round cradle. If you have a spare 071 speaker, this should fit when you take the round cradle out and solder the wires to the board.
  19. Was not 071 released in grey livery along with 088?.
  20. Looks superb.
  21. Back in the early 90s I happened to be stopped at Edermine Level Crossing just south of Enniscorthy.A single light engine IR 121 running bonnet first passed on the way to Enniscorthy.I thought it very strange at the time as normally the single 121s were turned at Rosslare and around this time 1992/93 the regular mk2s were hauled by single 121s. Perhaps the loco broke down in Wexford and was returning to Dublin bonnet first all the way?I never saw anything on the IRRS journals at the time. I had no camera either
  22. Got my accessories in the post this morning.Happy camper.
