I have No.18 fitted to all my locos, 121, 141, 181, 201, & A Class, 27 locos in total. The back of the buckeye head needs to be in line with the buffers. You could use No.19 if you wish, No.17 too short, No.20 too long. As previously said track curvature also plays a part, add to that coaching stock varies as well.

Has anyone tried the A Class speaker modification as suggested by Road&Rails ? I have altered the cab/shunting lights on 14 of my A class but I’m not sure what needs to be done with the speakers, my hearing is not the best, so I have difficulty understanding what needs to be disconnected.

Have a look on DCC CONCEPTS site, they don’t sell controllers/command stations but give a good overview of decent DCC command stations that are available. I started with a LENZ 25 years ago, I now have a ESU ECoS 52100 but that’s not a recommendation. Each to their own and as your pocket dictates !

Modelu @£4.50 per figure, a trifle expensive. I ordered some speakers from YouChoos and found unpainted figures @£1.50.

To celebrate Ireland’s victory over NZ today, I have purchased A42, my 13th A Class. Maybe I should wait till the Crossley Sound Decoder is available before I order my 13th SD. Bring it on Australia !

I managed to purchase No.145 IE on EBay, (1) is Cab No.1 at the radiator end. (2) Do you need to remove all hand rails to remove body ? Thanks.

Class 121 Speedometer & cable attachment detailing part. Having removed the rotating axle cover, I tried to fit detailing part to the leading axle of cab bogie L/H side, it wouldn’t fit to the extent that the bogie frame was bending under the pressure. Anyone had more success than that ?
