  1. I booked a "WT" kit with Worsley Works ages ago, so should remind Mr Doherty that my order still stands. 21mm gauge only for me. Drivetrain: I have just received a spare Märklin bevel-and-spur gearbox driven by a Faulhaber coreless motor (about £31 from Germany), so perhaps this might be adapted in some way.
  2. The older I get, the less I like huge crowds. Local finescale shows are the only ones I go to, so that's just two a year. Warley reminds me of the main railway station in Mumbai...at rush hour.
  3. You as well? I only went once. Once was enough.
  4. Common way to deal with Cartazzi trailing trucks, keeping the frames fixed in place as they should be.
  5. Anywhere on the Swiss rail network, if only to experience services that just... work.
  6. I feel a little unwell after reading that....
  7. At the end of the day, Irish transport policy seems much keener on roads than it is on railways.
  8. ....and you can cram so much more of the Irish landscape into the available space as well.
  9. Looks like Hollywood Foundry's product.
  10. It happens.
  11. Grand. Thanks There's a very long-term Swiss-German HO project I have in mind, which uses this colour.
  12. Is there a RAL colour code for it?
  13. They'll be dining out on this one for years to come.
  14. Spreading yourself?

    Rivets

Yes, I wouldn't be without mine!
  16. Interesting. The build article seemed to think it came with castings.....in which case, where did the builder get them from?
  17. Possible replacement for faulty Heljan motors, for example. Or cheap alternative to Mashima for kits. Some Mitsumis come with a worm (pitch unknown), so that will need to be extracted if you're using your own preferred geartrain.
  18. 4-4-0s generally need all the help they can get, as do 0-4-4Ts.
  19. Maxons are very strong motors. Expensive, but strong. Alternatives are Escap and Faulhaber. More weight?
  20. Let me know when you start hallucinating.
  21. Dunno if this will show up, but here goes: This is a blown-up crop of the original photo, the copyright of which belongs to SLS. There's also six rivets on the door itself, in a hexagon formation.
  22. Reported on here as well
  23. Wow, the corrosion really has got into that cab door.....
