  1. It's nice to see someone taking a real interest in the operating side of the wagons. These details do matter to lot's of people and it's nice to see another modeller getting hooked. Top marks Dive, no homework tonight. Rich,
  2. Mike I know you from this and previous incarnations and I know that you care strongly about the little details that really set a great model apart from a good model. I share these views also. I can guarantee that the folks involved with this project will deliver a top model and set new standards. Each of the lads involved are also hobbyist's and will put into this what they would do in their professional lives. Rich,
  3. Dave welcome to the group. I have watched your work with your previous employer and wish you every success with your own company. I am delighted that you are on board with this project. Your willingness to interact with your customers brought a real breath of fresh air into the hobby and it shows you care. Rich,
  4. Payed my interim installment a few weeks ago and having seen these pics It's getting more exciting. Thanks for the pics Pat and to all concerned with the project for keeping us involved and updated. It shows a lot of respect to the rest of us and we appreciate it. I reckon the last few sets will be gone soon after this update. It's going to be a cracking model. Rich,
  5. Things look completely different compared to when I was last there. Very enjoyable read, as was the 1992 visit. Rich,
  6. Looking at that pic the SSM model looks far better. Rich,
  7. I agree such a unique looking loco. I'd bet the model will be stunning. Rich,
  8. I always felt that the 121 was MIR's best Irish Rail loco kit, and yours portray my feelings spot on. Rich,
  9. Wasn't the wagon a design that IE had thought about but scrapped the idea when it was known that Beet would no longer run on the rails. Open to correction if wrong. Rich,
  10. That is just over 10 years ago, how time has flown. The Beet wagons made a distinctive noise, you would hear them before you would see them in some instances. How much things have changed is shocking. Lot's of track lifted, Beet trains ended, no more MK111's, 141's 181's 121's, or Orange 071's. God I loved those Beet wagons. Rich,
  11. 134 and 144 on a Guinness train. Another scene that we can prototypically model when the 121's are released. It's shaping up to being a good year. Rich,
  12. The restaurant looks fantastic. So much better with the correct window arrangement and roof details. Rich,
  13. It's OK I'm perfectly relaxed, nice of you to think of me. Rich,
  14. Even though my main interest is in the IE era I have to say that I love the IR livery in that photo. I have 143 in the IR livery as I couldn't resist it when it was released. I might purchase a 121 in the same livery. Rich,
  15. Found the pic of 184 and 135. Rich,
  16. Excellent work Bren. A nice change from the railway modelling. Rich,
  17. Excellent work Jason. You are setting new standards here. Rich,
  18. It's not even funny anymore. Rich,
  19. Wasn't the DVT to match the body and curve of the coaches while the cab was to match the cab front of a 201 class. The front windows, grab handles, position of lights, cutouts below the marker lights all capture the front of a 201 to me. The cabside windows even match a 201. It is a fine looking train and the new livery is growing on me. Rich,
  20. Dive I never said or thought you were disagreeing about anything. I thought a pic of the train would contribute to the thread as it is an interesting topic. With the standard of these fantastic models we should be running them as prototypical as we can in as many of the formations they ran in. This year some of us will be able to do that. Rich,
  21. Yes a cable was connected between both locos. A pair of 141's connected A pair of 121's connected The same would relate to a 141-181 + 121. Rich,
  22. Dive I do have a clear memory of seeing a pic of 184 and 135 leaving Connolly with a MK11 Aircon set and 184 was the leading loco. I think it was very early 90's. If anyone else has any info or a pic relating to it I would be delighed to see it. Rich,
  23. Looking at these pics I would say that it arrived from Waterford with 134 leading. It came off the Waterford line and pushed the train into the junction where the locos were uncoupled, ran around and re coupled at the Mallow end with 144 becoming the lead loco. Rich,
  24. I remember the first time I had to change one Richie, mental note apologize to me parents. The old man called the contents TNT. I'm glad they are grown up now. Rich,
