  1. Getting back on topic I am really looking forward to pairing a 121 with a baby. They were an everyday sight when paired together on Beets in the Beet season, and Cements out of Waterford. 124 and 146 hauling IRM Cements, I can't wait. Rich,
  2. I'll get a pain in the proverbials if this descends into another discussion about shades of orange... Sorry Pat couldn't resist it. Rich,
  3. Interesting how different the shades of orange are on the MK3's. Rich,
  4. Excellent, I happened to look away for a few moments while he was blowing up the balloon and thought it was Lord Vader when I heard it. Rich,
  5. I think that is a great idea having it available in 00, EM, and P4. I believe that the P4 wheels are even finer than Ultrascales. Plus no six month wait. Rich,
  6. Fran I listened to a sound model on youtube through a good set of headphones and it sounded amazing. Two speakers really make a massive difference. Rich,
  7. Have any of our BR modellers got their hands on one of these yet. From pics it looks a really fine model and has raised the bar in 00 rtr. Although with every new model there are some that have found discrepancies with the bodyside etched grilles. Having said that the majority seem delighted with their models. Rich,
  8. I agree. A classic example in a diesel model are the Fia trains brass built LMS twins. They knock the socks off the Dapol and Bachmann versions. The price might seem excessive to many but the quality wins through every time. Rich,
  9. No need whatsoever to apologize Noel. There are many different facets to the hobby and whether one individual is into highly detailed and accurate models and another just wants to play trains we all have a voice. I believe the 121 will be a fabulous model and I am really looking forward to it. Rich,
  10. Noel as a modeller and consumer I am interested in where the model is produced and it is another aspect of the hobby that I care about also. It's nice to follow the development from the computer screen to the finished model. The IRM crew have been keeping us up to date on the development of the ballast wagon showing us cad images of where we are at the moment, and that makes the project that extra little bit more special. It does matter to some of us. Rich,
  11. As far as I am aware the 071's came from the same factory as the Cravens and babies. The buffers and other parts on the 071's were reused from the babies even though they (buffers) are not prototypical for the 071 class. It would be nice to have that clarified if anyone on here can confirm it. If new tooling to correct the window positions on the MK11's (which would be surprising) is done I could see it alienating lot's of folks who bought the original models. Personally I think it would be a good move, but as I have said a very surprising one too. Rich,
  12. What out of interest makes you assume that 1509 will be made in a different factory. Rich,

    Congratulations

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Glenderg. Isabelle is a beautiful name for a beautiful little girl. Thanks for giving us the good news Seamus. It's good to see you back sir. Rich,
  14. If it is the OTA wagon then no it is nothing like ours. Rich,
  15. Really looking forward to these. It will be nice at last to have the four La Grange Illinois GM's modelled to a top standard. As cool as they are double headed nose to nose it will still be nice to double head a train with a 141 or 181 and a 121. I presume that the two IE ones will be 124 and 134. Rich,

    Happy 2016

Happy new year everyone. With these releases from IRM ( for me) it will equal or even eclipse the period when the Babies and Cravens were introduced. Great news Fran. Rich,
  17. I am a huge fan of the saga and I brought my son today. I had stayed away from anything on the net so I wouldn't know any of the story line. Like Fran said there was also a big attendance at the showing I was at. Lot's of folk attending were seeing it for the first time also. A little bit of tact in future Dive might help. Rich,
  18. A bit belated but Merry Christmas to one and all and a happy new year. Rich,
  19. Jaysus I thought Boutros Boutros Ghali had joined the site. Don't think it will make the Nobel peace prize. Rich,
  20. I've been looking for some bits on the Michael Clarke brochure Richie. Sterling, check, postal order, or bankers draft, no paypal or electronic payment, but my god they are fantastic etchings and castings. Don't mention the rivet counter words, certain fella's shirts and trousers will start ripping and they'll turn green. They don't like folks with an eye for detail. Rich,
  21. You said it's brass so bound to be from the last century, so what did you mean. The Brassmaster site is like a lot of kit manufacturers sites in the UK and they all carry top of the range kit's and castings. Rich,
  22. I think Richie knows that. He was being humorous. JB got the joke. Rich,
  23. After tonight's result I think Jose might be looking for a new club and address. Rich,
  24. + One a fantastic job. Rich,
