  1. 124 and 162 Rich,
  2. Even though my main interest is in the IE era I have to say that I love the IR livery in that photo. I have 143 in the IR livery as I couldn't resist it when it was released. I might purchase a 121 in the same livery. Rich,
  3. Found the pic of 184 and 135. Rich,
  4. Excellent work Bren. A nice change from the railway modelling. Rich,
  5. Excellent work Jason. You are setting new standards here. Rich,
  6. It's not even funny anymore. Rich,
  7. Wasn't the DVT to match the body and curve of the coaches while the cab was to match the cab front of a 201 class. The front windows, grab handles, position of lights, cutouts below the marker lights all capture the front of a 201 to me. The cabside windows even match a 201. It is a fine looking train and the new livery is growing on me. Rich,
  8. Dive I never said or thought you were disagreeing about anything. I thought a pic of the train would contribute to the thread as it is an interesting topic. With the standard of these fantastic models we should be running them as prototypical as we can in as many of the formations they ran in. This year some of us will be able to do that. Rich,
  9. Yes a cable was connected between both locos. A pair of 141's connected A pair of 121's connected The same would relate to a 141-181 + 121. Rich,
  10. Dive I do have a clear memory of seeing a pic of 184 and 135 leaving Connolly with a MK11 Aircon set and 184 was the leading loco. I think it was very early 90's. If anyone else has any info or a pic relating to it I would be delighed to see it. Rich,
  11. Looking at these pics I would say that it arrived from Waterford with 134 leading. It came off the Waterford line and pushed the train into the junction where the locos were uncoupled, ran around and re coupled at the Mallow end with 144 becoming the lead loco. Rich,
  12. I remember the first time I had to change one Richie, mental note apologize to me parents. The old man called the contents TNT. I'm glad they are grown up now. Rich,
  13. Getting back on topic I am really looking forward to pairing a 121 with a baby. They were an everyday sight when paired together on Beets in the Beet season, and Cements out of Waterford. 124 and 146 hauling IRM Cements, I can't wait. Rich,
  14. I'll get a pain in the proverbials if this descends into another discussion about shades of orange... Sorry Pat couldn't resist it. Rich,
  15. Interesting how different the shades of orange are on the MK3's. Rich,
  16. That's a MK3. Rich,
  17. Excellent, I happened to look away for a few moments while he was blowing up the balloon and thought it was Lord Vader when I heard it. Rich,
  18. I think that is a great idea having it available in 00, EM, and P4. I believe that the P4 wheels are even finer than Ultrascales. Plus no six month wait. Rich,
  19. Fran I listened to a sound model on youtube through a good set of headphones and it sounded amazing. Two speakers really make a massive difference. Rich,
  20. Have any of our BR modellers got their hands on one of these yet. From pics it looks a really fine model and has raised the bar in 00 rtr. Although with every new model there are some that have found discrepancies with the bodyside etched grilles. Having said that the majority seem delighted with their models. Rich,
  21. I agree. A classic example in a diesel model are the Fia trains brass built LMS twins. They knock the socks off the Dapol and Bachmann versions. The price might seem excessive to many but the quality wins through every time. Rich,
  22. No need whatsoever to apologize Noel. There are many different facets to the hobby and whether one individual is into highly detailed and accurate models and another just wants to play trains we all have a voice. I believe the 121 will be a fabulous model and I am really looking forward to it. Rich,
  23. Noel as a modeller and consumer I am interested in where the model is produced and it is another aspect of the hobby that I care about also. It's nice to follow the development from the computer screen to the finished model. The IRM crew have been keeping us up to date on the development of the ballast wagon showing us cad images of where we are at the moment, and that makes the project that extra little bit more special. It does matter to some of us. Rich,
  24. As far as I am aware the 071's came from the same factory as the Cravens and babies. The buffers and other parts on the 071's were reused from the babies even though they (buffers) are not prototypical for the 071 class. It would be nice to have that clarified if anyone on here can confirm it. If new tooling to correct the window positions on the MK11's (which would be surprising) is done I could see it alienating lot's of folks who bought the original models. Personally I think it would be a good move, but as I have said a very surprising one too. Rich,
  25. What out of interest makes you assume that 1509 will be made in a different factory. Rich,
