  1. On RTE1 tonight at 19.30 - 21st Century Railways (may be a repeat though)
  2. Another bridge strike, in Cork this time: http://www.broadsheet.ie/2013/07/03/meanwhile-in-cork-33/?fb_source=pubv1
  3. Yippee! I've ordered 111 & 8113 from you - 077 & 085 will have to wait another month!

Nice one to keep for the future
  5. Wow - some layout! I can see why it'd take 16years to get it to this level - stunning
  6. Very nice!
  7. Very very tasty! The new livery certainly has grown on me. I do love the previous silver & black too though
  8. I find it funny that they go ballistic - excuse the pun - over the printed gun, yet wouldn't bring in checks for crazy people / criminals when buying guns. As you say - protecting the arms industries interests. Also funny are those who think that their right to bear arms will help them fight against the government should they get out of line - maybe back in the day of muskets, but all the small arms in the world won't do much against tanks/drones/jets/attack helicompters/missiles etc, should the government want to put down any group that gets uppity - Waco being an example
  9. 'Take off and nuke the site from orbit - it's the only way to be sure' AKA - format, and reinstall the laptop from scratch, giving the young lad a clip around the ear for messing it up in the first place!
  10. any idea what the four, what look like grilles, above the cab windows of the two locos in the second last row from the back are?
  11. That's what I thought - gives a great sense of speed moving along the line
  12. Came across this on twistedsifter.com, and then found some more links. Amazing that so much is still extant in a large modern capital city! There are some lovely brick lined cuttings in places http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemin_de_fer_de_Petite_Ceinture Video of the route made up of stills pieced together (those arty French!): Not modelling I know, but thought it may interest some
  13. Kits are a great idea - especially if it keeps the cost down to allow assembly of a prototypical train length without breaking the bank!
  14. sweet as a nut - love the smoothed cab front
  15. Going to have to get 8113 - always had a soft spot for the look of the larger yellow panel compared to the other two
  16. Great photos - lovely atmosphere. I loved the old black & white tiles in Heuston
  17. The sleepers & drainage look very poor in some of the shots - it'd need to be relaid & drainage work done if it was going to carry trains again. At least as a walkway, the alignment is preserved for possible future relaying
  18. Council paid for the clearance work afaik
  19. at least a walking track will preserve the alignment - not too much work to convert it back in the future should the need arise
  20. Probably a walking/cycle track: http://www.independent.ie/regionals/newrossstandard/news/plan-to-restore-old-ross-to-waterford-line-28981309.html
  21. Yellow line? Don't be silly - that'd mean H&S, which we all know is unheard of in the U S of A!

One thing is for sure - it'd be a straightforward paintjob to achieve on a model. It would mean having to remove the grab rails on the cabs, if they are not going to be refitted to 071 (or 629000001001107100000112etc...) Will SSM be doing the decals in the future?
