I remember someone highlighting that kit on one of the previous sites a while back. The rivetting detail (no sniggers down the back please) is very good. Well worth the money...if yah had it!

Hi Dave. Don't know how I missed your question. Yes I will be at the MRSI on Saturday and Sunday so it would be A great idea to meet up. Sure doesn't is happen every time anyway? Just got myself an RG4. Sweet gearbox mechanism and love the way the bevel gearing allows the motor to be turned. More impressed though by the reputed 50% efficiency rates as versus 20% for a wormgear equivalent. That's just ANIMAL power output. I'll have to look at dickying around to make an equivalent myself....though to quote Captain Evans, I may be some time.

There's truth in that. While I love the Murphy Model MK2 EGVs and have a few of them, the one I researched and scratchbuilt will always take pride of place. I know the blood sweat and tears that went into every little detail. Especially overlapping and laminating about 20 strips of 1mm pvc lining to get the effect of the ventilation louvres!

It was a great service. I remember posting letters for 7:30pm collection at Mallow and ALWAYs arriving at their Dublin destinations for 8:00am the following morning.

John, you know as you've done it already. Having said that, I believe that 3-D printing is going to be massive in the next 10-15 years. Even as it is, they can 3-d print titanium. http://i.materialise.com/materials/titanium Some high end printers can do layers as thin as 20 microns

Ah yes, the Commitments. That opening shot over the Isaac Butt bridge, soundtracked to "Destination Anywhere". Magic. And Dublin being presented as a proper metropolis on film, with nary a diddlyiddle in site (other than the Corrs auditioning of course).
