  1. Thanks very much both of you. Homework to be done tonight, I think
  2. Any info on this one, Dave? Apart from being the wrong scale, is it protoypical? Paint job seems to be pretty basic, maybe ok for then? Is it split from a set?
  3. Liked that very much. Is that a TPO followed by an EGV (or some sort of TPO sorting coach) at 4:24?
  4. That's a novel Guinness wagon (for me, at least). Is it prototypical?........(that's probably a stupid question)
  5. I think it looks right at home there, squeezed in or not and accross from the limestone station and that awesome model by GD. Love this scene, Kieran. Good job, Kieran. That'll do nicely.
  6. Would someone identify the last three coaches in NIR livery on the first video at 1:11 please? Sorry, can't quite make it out
  7. Well done, IT. I knew someone had used one from scratch but had forgotten who. Seems to run very well!
  8. I know the CD motor has been suggested before. It doesn't seem very expensive it if fits in and saves some work on figuring out the retrofit from scratch. These must be secondhand motors I suspect. Wonder how long they would last. Possibly a fair while as CD/DVD drive get a fair amount of spinning relative to being on a loco unless you're running it all day long. Free shipping for most of you too! Anybody used one...?
  9. No, I understood that. What you were saying is correct but I guess I just realized that each MK III would normally accommodate maybe 50 passengers per coach and here is a rake of 8 or nine coaches with 40 plus a few extra staff!
  10. Interesting, maybe the Belmond brochure is not to be believed? An artist's (or CGI's) impression....... I'd want to get everything that was advertized at that price! I guess the tare weight might but there wouldn't be much passenger weight with 40 guests aboard
  11. Kieran, if you have any left to do could you upload a few shots of the refined technique. With luck, it might become a sticky. Are your points fixed to the baseboard by the PVA glue and how do you get them out with joiners and everything? Will another fit back in or you have to reballast everything?
  12. If they top and tail it, wouldn't that screw up the view from those nice observation coaches? Wonder if the observation cars are at both ends?
  13. Not that easy in the middle of my workday, Richie. You've a better chance of watching Jimmy Kimmel live. I knew Waterford was gone at least in its original form, Tom. It's damn expensive to buy over here (we're all wealthy Yanks from the Belmond thread:rolleyes:) Very few iconic Irish companies left. I guess the Budweiser Clydesdales will be on Guiness next:((
  14. Agreed. Can they use HEP in an emergency? Is any produced at Waterford anymore. I thought that after it went into receivership that most of the crystal is now made in Germany, Slovenia, Czech Rep etc. What happened to the original factory . It wasn't sold?
  15. Paul, I was hoping to buy that but now everyone will want one at that bargain price! They're gone off the rails! (anyway, shouldn't we move this to the eBay thread?)
  16. No problem in USA either. Usually I get not to see anything BBC for not paying my BBC license fee. Not logged into YouTube
  17. You have more locos than most but if you could do your favorites first, say one a week you could get it done in in three years. The cost of chips is likely to come down. If sound becomes mainstream then the cost of 'basic' chips will also fall. Buying chips in bulk in Germany as suggested by Noel might help a little. One could probably not afford to get someone to do them for one so there would be a big time commitment.
  18. I don't use this but is the spacing between tracks correct? If not it may be that they are not intended to be fitted directly to each other but with a small piece of joiner track that will set them up better with the lengths on the mainlines
  19. Hi, Some of my baby GMs were purchased used where the original owner had discarded the original box. I am missing the following; 141 original (came in the wrong box MM0141A) 156IR 161sa Supertrain 183IR Weathered 184IE 188CIE 190sa Supertrain 192IR I don't have much opportunity to pick up the boxes here. If you have one or more of these that you no longer intend to use would you please PM me. I will help with logistics and cover any shipping etc. Thanks, Kevin
  20. Speaking of New Irish Lines…….. November publication?
