  1. Short answer no as there are eight of them in three different liveries, however the other two will be widened. Andy
  2. To be pedantic it was used to make sure the wagons were the right way round to affect the transhipment as the tranship wagons had one end fixed so could only used one way round.Andy
  3. The Donegal coaches, and the two C&L brakes are avaliable as far as i know, but of a sore subject the Donegal coaches building my th one when i finally sorted out what looked wrong about them, they're too narrow,Pete used the internal width rather than the external making them 6 inches narrower hence the body doesn't overhang the chassis.Andy
  4. The Porters cap motor was supplied with the later batches as the early ones had a more basic gearbox it doesn't have the original wheels as they were originally 2mm though the centre axle is 2mm to accommodate the 2mm final drive.I remember having a chat with Pete about the 5's apparently he produced 125 kits in all,I wondere how many are built and running?,i've got four operational with two to build i've seen quoted that only about 10% of kits are actually built. Andy.
  5. Judging from this perhaps they're going to be doing working station clocks,Andy
  6. Its all a bit bizarrei thought just for the fun it to see were i am supposed to be and yes Salisbury plain is right but they have it in Adelaide South Australia !,weird bit is i was last there 60 years ago.Andy
  7. The little grey Fergies seem to have got everywhere as well as their successor the red Massey 35 the only place they didn't seem to predominate was around Letterkenny were you used to see a lot of the Fordson Dextas .Grey Fordsons were much older beasts, originally built i Dearborn then Cork until production was moved to Dagenham in 1932 appearing in Blue with orange wheels(traditional Essex cart colours apparently) though my one is in RAF blue grey being an ex RAF tractor,Andy
  8. Yes and then again no the DNG tanks were actually DX 060's with saddletanks, the main difference being the wheel diameter 4'3" for the Specials whereas the DX's were 5'2". I built mine using the London Road kit for the Special tank but with the larger wheels and using the splashers from their DX kit which they do as a spare.Worsley does four of the coachesi most say they do jolly up Valencia when they make an appearance.Andy.
  9. Its simple i used that setup for Lochty The trick with the SEEPs is to convert the fixing holes into slots(file or burr)and don't tighten the screws just leave them slightly floating that way you have enough movement for the switch,Andy
  10. Yes please need something to haul my BCDR six wheelers Andy
  11. Have to say i disagree about the gearbox choice High Level boxes are a much better proposition they are easy to put together and unlike Branchlines boxes the motor is removable after the box is assembled. As for rods Alan Gibson of Lanarkshire Models do quite a range rods including "Universal " sets which is what i used for 90 and 100.The Tim Cramer drawing was in the MRC May 1972,Page 184.Andy.
  12. Theres a reasonable amount of space if you use the tanks i built 90 for Courtmacsherry and found it a pretty simple one to motorise somewhere theres most of 100 to complement her .Andy
  13. Quite agree i usually pick up a box of them at Beaulieu Autojumble each year use them on all the models as well as on all my vehicles from Austin to Land Rover via JowettAndy
  14. For starters theres a track plan in Pattersons Book as well as one in the Narrow Gauge Magazine Donegal special No50 i think the Michael Bunch Book vol 1 has the best selection of Derry section photosthere was an article recently in the IRRS Journal on the derailmenti'll sort out some more details when i dig out my Londonderry section album.Andy
  15. Valencia has her first trip out in over three years to Yate next Saturday its been exhumed from the workshop(hadn't seen it in while) currently going through the stock, one or two odd combinations seen at the moment Harland & Wolff diesel on a rake of DNGR six wheelers anyone ? Andy.
  16. Bought a MGW coach it hangs over my workbench as an example a how bad 3d prints can be,Andy
  17. Certainly interested in both loco and tender Andy
  18. Isn't three rail a bit old hat ? Andy
  19. Two built so far with one more to go though as far as the three foot stuff goes i'm concentrating on the Donegal at the moment what with Bruckless off all over the place.Andy.
  20. I'd have to disagree having built 4 of the Backwoods Class 5's 3 of the Branchlines T&Ds and two of the Branchlines IOM loco plus 2 of the GEM kits with Branchlines chassis however i believe there is talk of an IOM ready to run loco making an appearance.Andy
  21. I'm just finishing my D.N.G.R saddletank so the way things go these days its a dead cert for early release Andy
  22. What about Caledonian,Great Eastern ans S&D ones ? Andy.
  23. The writeup is a bit odd,as Chris refers to "adding bits of plastic to the locos" whereas 4 and 5 are both scratchbuilt in brass, the railcar is a Worsley kit on a Halling chassis, the Beyer is a Gem kit on a Branchlines chassis and the Kerr Stuart is a Meridian kit on an Arnold TT Kof shunter chassis the only thing i did to the Kof is remove the body,no plastic was used on any of the stock as all the rolling stock is brass as well.still as you say Chris does do a good photo,Andy
  24. Ironically the only locos to work on both Valencia and Courtmacsherry were the C's.which out of my time scale but i run one anyway,Andy
