  1. Apologies for poor quality of the images, two shots of the 071 class hauling the craven set back through Wicklow this evening. This location is in the Wicklow - Rathdrum section on the outskirts of Wicklow Town.
  2. A short video clip of 461 with the Emerald Isle tour approaching Milepost 30, D.S.E.R. on approach to Glenealy Bank.
  3. Hi snapper, many thanks those estimated times will be a great help and we hope to catch some very interesting movements, including an 071 class with craven set. Tommy
  4. Hi all, would anyone know the estimated timetable for the Emerald Explorer Railtour on Thursday 16th June next? A friend and I are hoping to photograph the train as it passes through the Bray and Wicklow Town areas. If anyone would have an approximate time it would be most appreciated. Thanks all, Tommy.
  5. Great work here Eamonn that wagon and box look the part.
  6. Hi all, down in Brittany for a few days break with the family, got into Quimper (Kemper), today to the local station. Very modern set up, I had been hoping for a few diesels but not a sign of one except TGVs and EMUs. Does anyone know if there are any rural lines around here which are diesel only!?
  7. Thanks all, I will be in touch with Whitehead immediately.
  8. Hi all, Would any member who is also involved in the RPSI have a ticket for the Diesel tour scheduled for Friday 13th May? I know there is a mail application process but I'm hoping to pick up a ticket for cash in the north Wicklow/Dublin areas. Many thanks. Regards, Tommy
  9. Great work Eamonn, the tankers look very dated and realistic.
  10. Hi irishtrains2730, I will have a go at 40 if she's still available and to include the chassis and other bits. Regards, Tommy.
  11. Love the cutting walls and general scene here Bos, very realistic work.
  12. Thanks Milepost for these shots - sad to see 210 in that state.
  13. Congrats here Noel on a beautiful investment - a fine layout indeed.
  14. Great pics jhb and thanks for posting them as they are most interesting.
  15. Was there myself with the family and there was something for everyone. The kids enjoyed it as did the adults, the usual suspects were in attendance and I even picked up a very reasonably priced Cl 25. Great show and well done to all concerned.
  16. Brilliant Dave - even I was still very young at that time and had not discovered the joys of the hobby - I didn't think there was such interest in the hobby at that time in Ireland - I first became aware of the 'Irish' model trains when I saw a lima 33 repaint with Mk IIs which a friend had received from Santa. My first Irish set was from jouef - remember them as being erratic runners - later on when I began to have pocket money I remember saving for lima; Cl 33, Warship and a Deltic "Meld". A shop in Wicklow town used to do a small run of Lima at end of 70s - early 80s. Great advert here.
  17. I won't miss it this Easter. Well done Gerry it is totally realistic.
  18. Great to see this from DFDS and lets hope it proves to be a success, good for the environment and less HGVs on the roads, but most importantly! - another step in the revival of a rail-freight here.
  19. Well done Daryl - I like the work and looking forward to seeing the new GV.
  20. Was thinking the same myself - the Irish retailers are providing excellent value for money on these models. But you know the way the market works and someone out there may well be prepared to pay above the odds.
  21. Don't know if this will be of interest to anyone on here? just noticed it on Done Deal. https://www.donedeal.ie/hobbies-for-sale/irish-railways/11721114
  22. Hi Dive, Good luck with the build. The set came with the DT, not sure of the origin of the coaches but a guy build the DT and I was delighted to pick them up from bid Dave at Bray.
  23. Picked up a Push/Pull set for the 121 at the Bray show last Sunday, while it's far from perfect I'm happy with this representation of a train that used to be a regular visitor to the DSER on Sundays, back in the early 90s. Thanks to Gerry for the transfers.
  24. Thanks Harry I'm happy with it in the sense that I have something that represents a 121. Gerry many thanks for that. Regards, Tommy
  25. Had a go at the MIR kit - and practised my skills while making it. The painting and work isn't a patch on the neat work so often posted by members here, but it's progress at the basic level I operate at. I enjoyed the kit and I'm delighted with the representation of the 121 class until Mr. Murphy's models arrive. I need the IE stickers and loco numbers if anyone out there has a any as the ones in the set are breaking up. My next project now will be to source three BR MKIIIs and I'll have a go at a push pull set for the 121. Thanks for having a look. Tommy
