  1. Darn... I had intended to pick up two C class kits (long + short wheelbase) when they were available.
  2. He's bidding on the photo just so he can take the weathering stick to it!
  3. 071 ,141, 181, 201... the only loco class in use at the time that doesn't appear in the video are the 121s - not bad for a few hours' filming! Nice find!
  4. Great weathering job. I especially like how it looks as if it's recently been through the wash road, with the brushes scrubbing just as far as the roof edge above the windows.
  5. That looks fab! I like the adverts on it... especially the old 98fm one on the back. Just need another one with a Rock 104 ad now!
  6. Ha! I was waiting to hear a fizz and a bang, and to see smoke coming from the traction motors...
  7. Anto, I'd say that was harder to get right than a filthy 141, but you got it spot-on... excellent work!
  8. Actually, you're spot-on. The issues I referred to above would only have occurred with 8 coaches + generator van. There was originally a full spare Enterprise coach rake, but as demand grew they plucked coaches from that set and added them to the others, meaning there was only 4(?) spares, including the DVT. The current arrangement will make it easier to rotate coaches for refurbishment when the time comes (i.e. in the not-too-distant future).
  9. I guess that might work. If it doesn't, you can just buy another Kinder Egg!
  10. You can also find Milliput in a lot of art shops. Any of those near you?
  11. The Kinder egg shells don't take glue well. You'll probably have to use superglue on it, but even then you should be careful with it as the bond won't be all that strong.
  12. I have a copy of those drawings, Dave. They were the ones IÉ used to send out on request, but in recent years they seem to send out the painting diagrams instead. The loco in the video is the off-the-shelf GL8 design... GM modified the body specifically for the CIÉ version.
  13. More a kid brother than a distant cousin with those looks... and the sound!!! Cheers for posting that!
  14. The addition of the generator van means they have to remove one coach from the rake... I think there may be issues with train lengths either at Connolly or Belfast Central.
  15. Seen at York Road last Saturday: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/21680457_6KfDSc#!i=1817619843&k=36VMsjM&lb=1&s=XL Wonder how much longer it'll be until we see them in service?
  16. You should start a topic in the Workbench section when you get started... it'd be nice to see how the build progresses, plus you can get advice along the way if you need it.
  17. This is the eBay watch thread, Conor.
  18. Re. Hidden-Agenda's point about having decent light... I'd recommend getting a magnifying lamp (like this one: http://affordaproducts.com/Images/LM763.jpg) if you'll be doing a lot of kit-building. They really do make a difference, especially when it comes down to the fine detailing. I received one as a gift, so I'm not sure how much they cost in the shops, but from looking on eBay you can pick them up there for around €40-€50 + P&P.
  19. Fingers crossed, Rich... that's the model I'd love to see above all else!
  20. Ah, it's in Belfast... close enough!
  21. 2900 emu? No one told me they electrified the Larne line!
