  1. It may have been at one point, but I doubt it is now. Good to see that it'll be open to the public again, but I still have reservations about it being stuck all the way out in Malahide.
  2. I have a Y7100 locotracteur... photos here: http://www.irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/44-La-Vie-en-Rail I've been waiting patiently for the release of their AGC in TER Auvergne colours for a few years now!
  3. Actually... forgot to mention LS Models. They're probably top of the pile...
  4. Well, Steve... I think we've found your next modelling project! Great photos!
  5. In fairness, you tend to get what you pay for, and eBay throws up the odd bargain...
  6. Haven't searched for 'gimp wire' (also known as 'French wire' or 'bullion wire') for a while, but last time I did, about 50% of the results were definitely not what I was looking for...
  7. There's a group in Coventry restoring a Shackleton, and they've recently fired up the engines. They're hoping to commence taxi runs later this year. There are a couple of Shacks at Nicosia Airport in Cyprus. They look to be beyond restoration now, though... I think the intention was to convert them into bars or restaurants, but the project never went ahead.
  8. There are at least three still knocking around... One is in Collins Barracks: One is at the Air Corps museum at Baldonnel: http://www.worldairpics.com/photo/1040509/M/De-Havilland-DH-115-Vampire-T55/191/Irish-Air-Corps/?&sid=4316895394&sp=0 And another is in a dismantled state in Dromod:
  9. They've tracked down those Spitfires to a location in Burma (or Myanmar, as it's called these days) and there's a team from the UK out there at the moment. Apparently they were buried in crates, so should definitely be in good nick when they're unearthed!
  10. Looks like there could be a second airworthy Lancaster in the very near future... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20886684
  11. Well, NIR's ballast wagons are ex-SNCF...
  12. [video=youtube_share;86yJ-yfim2o] Wonder how many cyclists have disappeared into that?
  13. Another tasty one... [video=youtube_share;uopLPKLnseM] The video was recorded with the layout set up outside. Natural light makes a huge difference!
  14. I usually buy from C&M Models... http://www.candmmodels.co.uk
  15. Thanks for posting that, Fran! Looking forward to the X72500 multiple unit in Auvergne colours. Good to see the X2200 and matching trailer being re-introduced, too.
  16. "Oh, me f***ing head!" - Me, this morning.
