  1. With the rate you're working at, I'll be surprised if it isn't all finished by this time next year!
  2. That'll be the drivers brewing some seriously strong tay!
  3. Looking good! I actually got a sneak peak of the battery house in Glenderg's bag of tricks at the Raheny show, and I can confirm that it looks even better in the flesh. In fact, I was with him when we found out it was actually called the 'battery house'!
  4. No, the loco would always be parallel to the platform...
  5. Stumped for Christmas gifts? http://www.broadsheet.ie/2012/12/17/meanwhile-on-a-pre-dawn-dash-through-longford/
  6. Afternoon, JB! Making a thread 'sticky' means to stick it to the top of the list of topics on the forum, so it doesn't slide away out of sight when newer topics are started. It's a moderator action... and it's already been taken care of.
  7. The Sentinel looks good. Tempted to get one and deck it out as a Manchester Ship Canal Railway loco. http://www.flickr.com/photos/donglos/5825121685/
  8. This would make for a handy little conversion project for anyone working in N gauge: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/N-BACHMANN-PLASSER-EM80C-LOCOMOTIVE-UNION-PACIFIC-UP-EC1-LN-IOB-/230897182396?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item35c28b66bc#ht_500wt_1180
  9. "I think there is a world market for maybe 5 computers." - Thomas Watson, founder of IBM, 1943.
  10. Good idea... this is a topic that is likely to be visited again and again.
  11. Great documentary on UP's turbine locomotives, with lots of background info and plenty of footage of them in action... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uT_aYfTif4
  12. Lovely stuff! There's a distinct lack of catenary for all those electrics, though...
  13. I'll be interested to see the Sentinel diesel... an interesting loco, and found widespread use in the industrial sector so it should prove popular. Smart move from Hornby.
  14. http://www.independent.ie/national-news/state-inspectors-to-snoop-inside-our-fridges-3326631.html "A Government inspector could soon be coming to a fridge near you. "The food safety promotion body Safefood wants to investigate the contents of householders' fridges to make sure we're not at risk of poisoning ourselves from improper use..." H&S just got even crazier.

    Family bereavement .

Sorry for your loss, Anto. Thinking of you and your family at this sad time.
  16. I'm not sure about that, JB... I'm pretty sure they were a mixture of brake corridor seconds and brake corridor composites.
  17. Merry Christmas everone, and a Happy New Year! Time you got one for your gaff, Steve! Give these guys a call... http://www.multipowerinternational.com/narrowsale.html
  18. Aye... if Mk3s or De Dietrichs can pass by each other with no problem, you're in business because there won't be anything longer than that.
  19. What about overhead catenary for the Dart?
  20. The 'S' looks OK to me... it's gentle enough and it's a feature that isn't all that uncommon.
  21. Lovely work, John! Is there a TPO version as well?
  22. Presumably the Poles have yet to perfect the art of 'hovering' over the toilet bowl...
  23. It's inspirational stuff alright! Don't think they'd appreciate their X2800 resprayed in NIR colours before the mucking-up commenced... That's exquisite modelling!
