  1. The carraige washer at Connolly/Ossory Road has not worked for years, the most external cleaning they will get is the front of the loco washed at Connolly shed. Its a very intense diagram too, in terms of train weight and the various climbs on the route in either direction - Lusk, Kellystown and Mountpleasant among others
  2. Expressing any kind of satisfaction with certain Silverfox products. Some are good others are awful. Why are people shouting, screaming and roaring over Murphys current batch of Mk2's when they seem to be happy with locos that just dont look right at all, and nothing to do with the shade of orange.... Similar principles with both companies, someone saw a gap in the marketplace and went for it......
  3. There have been plenty of other 'bogged down' conversations and these have been let run.....
  4. You should JB, Id love to know if Silverfox consult anyone with regards to their Irish stock, as a lot of it is terrible
  5. Thanks for the pointing that out, I was wondering where the differences lay
  6. Filmed under fluorescent lights along with compression, hardly judgeable. Also the loco is the one in repainted CIE orange rather than original. Decide when the models are infront of your own eyes....
  7. It is IFM, thats their name on ebay...
  8. Living in the past - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LIMA-205159-IE-CIE-IRISH-RAILWAYS-CLASS-201-LOCO-216-RIVER-DODDER-MINT-BOXED-nc-/331422674305?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item4d2a54ad81
  9. You already know what it is............
  10. How much money do you have, you might need to remortgage your house....
  11. Fine for wiring, not for brass!
  12. Had soldering irons and cutting disks a few weeks back..
  13. Indeed, we are not quite there yet, but give it a few years
  14. Lighten the mood - also a brief glimpse of the exterior.... [video=youtube;po_I7tFEL-8]
  15. 5408 in the photo and taken after conversion......moving on
  16. Its 5408 closest to the camera, the Presidential coach, which did not see a great deal of use compared to most MK2's so Id not use this as a comparison photo. Its parked in the same spot of the works that it usually resided in too. Its still in immaculate condition today too - the only surviving CIE MK2D kitchen
  17. The years stamped underneath were the years the model itself was first introduced, rather than that livery
  18. Will leave that for the keyboard wackers, ahem Gurus........
  19. This is the thing - a real modeller will make his own rather than make do with whatever muck is available, then or now
  20. Sums it up really, the negatives outweigh the pluses - of which there are hardly any
  21. If you model Irish in HO scale and run on P4 scale track its a perfect representation of 1600mm/5'3... OO Scale on 21mm better imo, less work.......
  22. Is criticism good or bad? There are those who are happy with models as they are, then there are those who strive to make things more authentic At the end of the day its a model, Im personally disappointed that there is not a miniature internal combustion engine inside each locomotive, the toilets dont work in the coaches, or that you cant prepare a meal in the restaurant.... They are models...
  23. Your contradicting yourself there I think.... You say everyone is entitled to an opinion, but you precede that comment by saying there cannot be negative opinions...
  24. Pay your money, gets your choice and all that
